What songs can you think of that have had releases either on album or broken down for 45 release into parts? My example would be Fleetwood Mac's Oh Well Part 1 and 2 (released that way as a single)
.. and annoyingly the last track on Nick Caves "Dig, Lazarus Dig!!!" which had been delegated to a bonus 7" single on the original 2008 vinyl version: "More News From Nowhere Pt.1" and "More New From Nowhere Pt.2". Thankfully the 2014 reissue rectified that and put the whole track on one side of a bonus 12".
The Style Council 'Money-Go-Round' parts 1 and 2 on the 7", the full version on the 12". Same with 'Soul Deep' by The Council Collective.
The History of the World (part 1) by the Damned. Part 1 was in the lyrics, so I am not sure that there ever was a part 2. Ian Dury's Reasons to be Cheerful Part 3 had part 3 in the lyrics as well.
lots by James Brown ! including...... Funny I found a sealed c.d. of BILLY IDOL-"S/T" and it has a "WHITE WEDDING-PT.1" listed.....I did not know there was a "PT.2"......The song has a running time of 4:11........
Good Lord! I have every one of these singles...I'm a huge James Brown fan. Another one is "Get Up, Get Into It, Get Involved".
Dexys Midnight Runners had "Reminisce Part Two" on their album, "Don't Stand Me Down". "Reminisce Part One" was a b-side on some versions of the "This Is What She's Like" single.
James Brown is the first person to come to mind. Of course some of these are still edited compared to the full length version.
billy idol/white wedding it had parts one and two, which also worked together as part of the “shotgun mix.” one part was mostly the sparse/well-known single, the other part had some different synth/percussion/dance stuff going on.
