OutKast classics! Da Art of Storytellin Pt 1 Da Art of Storytellin Pt 2 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tMZ5TTDM-Jk&ab_channel=Outkast-Topic
I love this record. I nearly wore my copy out when the song was on the chart. I was quite disappointed when, early on in the cd era, this song was released in some version I had never heard before. Turns out that's because I had never heard the album; Part 1 of this song on the album is not the same mix as part 1 on the 45 rpm single! It's been so long since I've heard Part 2 on the single that I'm not sure whether Part 2 matches, but I'm pretty sure the single and album are different for that part as well.
Yes, I love it, too. And I know all about that stuff: yes, part I on the single is a different animal from part I on the original album, and part II on the single is also different and unique to the single, and not the same as part II on the album. But to add to the confusion there are a whole bunch of different edits and different mixes of the original single A-side that were all released at the same time and were seemingly sent out to different regions and stations with no discernible pattern or logic. Some of the singles have the "Sookie, sookie" part and some don't have it at all. Some have an edit made only for the single — it has a little tension delay-interval with that catchy bass run played twice way out front, accompanied by a stuttering horn, before bursting back into the chorus at the end. And some omit that entirely. Some have both! There are probably close to 10 different radio versions! Different lengths, mixes, parts. Greg Perry clearly really liked this song and had tons of fun playing with it. Here's one of the single versions, claimed to be the "original hot mono mix". It's great, but this isn't what I heard on the radio or what I bought. Lol. One Monkey Don't Stop No Show Part I - Honey Cone
The Damned also had “Smash It Up, Parts 1 and 2”. Part 1 was an instrumental opener, and part 2 was the song proper that was released as a single.

Eddie Bo had several including 'Check Mr Popeye (Part I) b/w 'Now Let's Popeye (Part II)' (1962); 'Hook and Sling' (1969); and 'Check Your Bucket' (1970)
A pretty early one from Garry Mills (1960). Part II is on the flip side. Written by Tony Hatch (as Mark Anthony)
I've already mentioned The Coasters' Besame Mucho - their Girls, Girls, Girls was also issued in two parts.
The Nutty Squirrels - "Uh-Oh Parts 1 & 2" The Nutty Squirrels were to jazz like the Chipmunks were to pop. In this case it was part 2 that was a hit, reaching #14 in the charts in 1959.
'Rocking Pneumonia and the Boogie Woogie Flu' by Huey Smith and the Clowns (1957) Huey Smith And The Clowns - Rocking Pneumonia And The Boogie Woogie Flu Huey's re-recorded 'Rocking Pneumonia' for Atlantic's Cotillion label was also released on a two part 45 in 1971 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=E6y0kbgTTw4&ab_channel=GettingMightyCrowded
'It's Only Money, Part 2' was definitely a single A-side in the UK. I remember hearing it on the radio.
Not sure if this one has been mentioned yet but Frank Sinatra's "Soliloquy" from 1946 is an ambitious early example: Frank Sinatra - Soliloquy
Orbital: The Box (Part 1) and The Box (Part 2) ... on the album at least. The single is a different story altogether!
Marvin Gaye, "You're the Man", an amazingly propulsive political single that would have fit in on the "What's Going On" album This is part 1 and 2 together, but I think they were issued separately Does he have coke residue under his nostril in that cover pic?
Some of Tangerine Dream's '70s and '80s albums are composed of two side-length epics titled as part 1 and part 2 (or a variant of): Rubycon Ricochet Tangram Pergamon Regards, Dave
