While checking a song that mentions actors, I came across the following song that, while it doesn't mention her, is a tribute to Elizabeth Taylor.
What are other songs that are a tribute?

I read somewhere “Sister Ray” by The Velvet Underground was part tribute and acknowledgment by Lou Reed of Ray Davies’ songwriting abilities, though that may be wrong.

    American Pie.

I guess you could also say Shine On You Crazy Diamond is a tribube to Syd.

All These Years Ago and Here Today are both great John Lennon tributes by George and Paul.

Heavy Horses by Jethro Tull, a tribute to the working horses in Great Britain.

Beatles Forever by ELO, not released but based on the bootlegs I have heard it is clearly the work of an obsessed Beatles fan lol.

Song For Woody by Bob Dylan

    Roy Rogers by Elton John

Not certain it can be called a "tribute" but The Clash's "The Right Profile" is about Montgomery Clift.
