The first one that comes to mind is "How Do You Sleep?" by John Lennon. John rips on Paul McCartney and is accompanied by George Harrison on slide guitar.

‘Instant Club Hit’ by The Dead Milkmen takes down quite a few of their 80s contemporaries (or as the song puts it ‘Europeans who come over here with their big hairdos’)

German punk band The T*ts did the tasteless exploitation song ‘We’re So Glad Elvis Is Dead’ in 1978:

And for the benefit of any Elvis fans who were annoyed by my last post, here’s The T*ts 40 years later embarrassingly bungling their way through a slowed down version of their one mean spirited ‘hit’ as 60 something men at a punk festival. Surely a fate worse than death!

The bit where they stop the song and then start playing it again just as badly is hilariously cringe!

Spike Jones’ version of Ghost Riders in the Sky is a send up that gives a dig to Vaughn Monroe.

    You've reminded me of this:

Not everyone in New York would pay to see Andrew Lloyd Webber,
May his trousers fall down as he bows to the queen and the crown.

The Damned’s ‘Idiot Box’ was a pointed attack on Television after the latter threw the former off their tour. (‘Idiot Box’ being old school British slang for the television, you see)

    Do you remember Rick Astley?
He had a big fat hit that was ghastly
He said I'm never gonna give you up or let you down
Well I'm here to tell ya that dick's a clown

Ouch. That's pretty harsh, Nick. I prefer this other one that's a little poke at Paul Weller.
