Songs that sample clips from old movies or TV shows.

A minor correction if I may - it was made by ITC and was therefore broadcast on ITV first so songfacts aren’t really living up to their name there.

 

Jan & Dean - Laurel and Hardy

As you probably guessed from the title, there's a clip from a Laurel and Hardy film at the end of the song (the clip is taken from Oliver the Eighth).

 

First one I thought of - taken from Performance of course.

Thank you for the correction. I'm glad now that I attributed the quote to songfacts - but I suppose I should have done due diligence and researched it further before posting. Originally I was just going to say "the UK TV show" until I found the songfacts (songfiction ?) quote. Even then when I saw "BBC" it just didn't seem right, and although it's been a long time since I saw the show I didn't research any further into it. For anyone interested, the bit about Rod Smallwood getting flustered asking Patrick McGoohan for permission to use the quote is covered in the Eagle Rock Classic Albums DVD.

I'm going out on a limb here and quoting songfacts again. This time about Rush using a snippet from The Simpson's TV show for their live version of 'The Big Money' from "Rush In Rio".
"On their Rush In Rio DVD, the band slows down the tempo for a brief pause and we hear Homer Simpson say "Doh!" then Lisa Simpson say "A Deer!" followed by Marge Simpson saying "A female Deer," As the band kicks it back up a notch to finish the song."

I don't know what foreign film the audio is taken from or even what the translation is.

Although, someone did attempt to translate the lyrics....

Pink Floyd's "Yet Another Movie" has Casablanca dialogue towards the end.

 

Civil War by Guns ‘N Roses

The song samples Strother Martin's speech in the 1967 movie, Cool Hand Luke: "What we've got here is... failure to communicate. Some men you just can't reach. So you get what we had here last week, which is the way he wants it... well, he gets it. I don't like it any more than you men."

 

And here is an obscure one: Bird From Mars: Two Voices also sampled Star Trek. Anyone but me remember this album?
