Found this thread while looking for something else, so I'll just add one that hasn't been mentioned yet:

There was a UK TV series in 2000 called Hearts And Bones, completely unconnected to the Paul Simon song/album of the same name.

“The Prisoner” was both the classic 1967-‘68 British TV show and a 1989 Howard Jones song that was unrelated, as far as I can tell.

As far as I can tell, neither related to nor inspired by films or TV series of the same name:

"Rush" by Big Audio Dynamite II
"Heaven Can Wait" by Meat Loaf
    "Alien" by Atlanta Rhythm Section
    "Taxi" by Harry Chapin
    "Friends" by The Beach Boys
"The Voice" by the Moody Blues

There was also a "Taxi" in the early to mid '80's by J. Blackfoot, an R&B singer. Don't think it had any connection to that TV series either.

As well, Cristy Lane's "One Day At A Time" had no connection or relation to the TV series of the same title.

The American Pie film, despite having the same title as Don McLean's biggest hit, had no connection thereto. That would be known as the opposite of the intent of this thread.

IMO, there's a 0% chance the song title wasn't a factor in the movie title.

No, there's no connection between the story of the song and the story of the movie, but there's no way the movie would've been called "American Pie" if it wasn't a famous song title.

I mean, the title makes no real sense on its own for the movie!
