It stops a bit short, not really abruptly but could go on longer if not indefinitely - Cinerama, Dance Girl Dance:

Plenty of songs Iwish were longer, but only one Iwish went on forever: "Room at the Top" by Tom Petty. The whole song just keeps building and building, but ends at only about 30% power. could have and should have gone on for half an hour, if not more. I love the song but at 5 minutes... it's too damn short!

Fortunately, we have those 40-minute-long live versions.

King Diamond’s “Black Horsemen” should absolutely go on indefinitely. After the part where the track actually ends, it should transition back to the solo section where Andy should just solo on forever in all of his melodic glory.

I was listening to this the other day and I thought the exact same thing. Jeff Porcaro is a monster on that track, as he is on most.
I think I could listen to the fade out of "Sultans Of Swing" for awhile.

  11. Yes! I was going to say Wurm, the last part of Starship Trooper. I never want that to end.

Leonard Cohen -"Closing Time" (I could listen to him going on with the story)

Led Zep - "Bron Y Aur"

    Robbie Williams-"Advertising Space"

    Bee Gees-"I Started A Joke"

  15. Exactly. That song should be an entire side of an LP.

Journey's "Lovin', Touchin', Squeezin'", if for no other reason, that they go on so long ad nauseum, even the 14-year-old girls who drove the airplay in the first place, could tire of them and go buy some decent records.

And, once they come to their senses, the Earth could at long last begin to heal. :D

Yes, I know nobody likes it (because of the lyrics ), but the solo should have gone on for longer.

I once used audacity to extend the coda of Shadow Of The Hierophant by Steve Hackett. And then about a year later the remastered CD is released with an extended coda (though only half as long as mine).

The Monkees - Birth of an Accidental Hipster

The last 15 seconds of the song sounds like it's paving the way for a great musical interlude or psychedelic guitar solo, but nope. Just abruptly fades out.

Stevie Ray Vaughan agrees. His cover of Little Wing proves that the song should have been 7min!

Way too short on the Billy The Kid soundtrack. Could have been one of Dylan's epics with another 3 minutes.
