    Ramones- Slug

A demo that appeared as a bonus track on the remastered Rocket To Russia.

During the song Joey spells out S-L-U-G

No idea what it means unless he's saying unrequited love is like being slugged

(Oh Dear) Miss Morse -- Pearls Before Swine

The chorus is a certain word spelled out in Morse Code

    dit dit dah dit
    dit dit dah
    dah dit dah dit
    dah dit dah

You old radiomen, hams, boy scouts will easily figure it out. :shh:

Aerosmith F-I-N-E On "What it takes"

Elvis Costello's spelling at the end of "I stand accused" is my personal favorite though--already mentioned earlier.

Too close to Memphis Slim's "If You See Kay" which was mentioned before, albeit without the artist's name.

I didn't see "S. L. U. T. She may be a slut but she looks good to me." Todd Rundgren (and Big Star with the fantastic cover).

Interestingly, I can't even type the word 'respect' in a rhythm other than the one Aretha sang it in.

And seriously, how could it have taken 44 posts before someone brought that up?

That would be correct. Lemmy wrote it as a tribute to the Ramones on Motorhead's "1916" album and the Ramones later covered it.

  18. "One-Two-Five" by 10cc spells out the word reagge during the reagge break in the song.

Surprised no one mentioned Muddy Water's "Mannish Boy." M-A-N... B-O-Y.

    Also:

Todd Rundgren's "Slut": "S - L - U- T. She may be a slut, but she looks good to me"

MLutthans That's my spaghetti, Chewbacca! Staff

The jingle for 1-800-Mattress with the double-take-inducing lyrics: "1-800-M-a-t-t-r-e-s" but no second "s."

    That one really irritates me.
