How about "Knots," "On Reflection" or "Design" by Gentle Giant? Not sure if percussion is allowed in the definition of acapella or not, but I'm sure there are moments with only voices somewhere in GG's 10-year run.

Holy crap! Second page and nobody’s mentioned Nowhere Man yet! I’m very disappointed with the Beatles cultists.

Me and a Gun by Tori Amos is entirely a capella. It's an incredibly stark account of her rape. Pretty harrowing to listen to.

(And it was her first single!)

The "Billboard Book Of Number One Hits" mentions the a cappella section was suggested by producer Ted Templeman because he'd done that with his old band, Harper's Bizarre. They don't say which song, but it was their hit version of "The 59th Street Bridge Song (Feelin' Groovy)."

'I Go To Pieces' as recorded by Southern Pacific. This popular band ran from 1983-91 and featured Stu Cook, formerly of Creedence Clearwater Revival, along with John McFee and Keith Knudsen from The Doobie Brothers. The song was written by Del Shannon.

Come on.... the ULTIMATE song in this topic has to be Queen's "The prophet's song", right ?

TV on the Radio (before they started to suck) have a couple of older a capella tracks. One's a cover of Mr. Grieves by the Pixies:
