  6. That could well be true, but like Bobby McGee, any ambiguity in gender - implied by a name - is, in my opinion open to interpretation to the listener.

    When the songs came out, we (male and female) could both enjoy the same song and not feel compelled to research the song. If it spoke to us, that was enough. Just like poetry.

    (Yes, both those songs were pre google). LOL.
