There's enough heaviness in the world these days - let's have some fun!

Here's the premise. I believe that even the highest-minded music connoisseurs out there have some songs that they know aren't "good." "Everyone" knows they aren't good. You know you should roll your eyes at them when in the company of serious music fans, and of course you'd never purposely play it ;).

And yet - when the song comes on, you find yourself smiling, tapping your feet, or maybe even a bit of emotion welling up from that "sappy" song. Deep down, you know you like it. So what are those songs for you?

My request for the thread...Be lighthearted and have fun. Don't knock other people's picks, and no need to pontificate that that you're not embarrassed at all and nobody can tell anybody else what to like - it's stipulated!

    I'll start with a couple:

#1 Escape (the Pina Colada Song)

    #2 MC Hammer: U Can't Touch This

I feel clean now :D- who else is ready to come forward?

    If it’s a song I like, then it’s good. I don’t like things that aren’t good.

Mean - Taylor Swift. It was like the first song I ever started liking when I was kid! Still make me smile like an idiot and sing along, despite all

Not really a good bad song, just one that is a blatant throw away from Marc Bolan. It's my throw away, he wrote it for me ;)

It makes me melt, he was a little pretty cute

whilst I agree with this, I am still surprised by how much I like Let Me Entertain You by Robbie Williams.

I'm not a Joe Cocker or INXS fan, it's got big drums in it and a standard rock song guitar break and it's overblown and pompous, but I like it for some reason

I just posted about this one on a completely different thread ("Mr Roboto") I love this song as goofy as it gets:

Pina Colada Song tells a great little story. But there *is* one song that comes to mind at the moment...a bit hokey, corny both lyrically and musically and with a cheesy organ part to boot...but I like it...Which Way You Goin' Billy by the Poppy family. I wouldn't be caught dead listening to this when it first came out in 7th grade...but I guess my outlook's broadened (or deteriorated).

I heard “The Love Boat” theme on the radio recently in all its 70s prime time television disco glory! I was singing along and digging them wah-wah guitars!

A lot of mid 70s Paul McCartney was shmaltzy. But somehow I still like My Love and Silly Love Songs for example.
