I got just one shipping notice late last week, and all 3 of my orders showed up on Saturday. All perfect, no warps or flaws this time! Very happy I ordered, just ordered a few more items from the new listings.
Got an email that the sale continues and now they are adding a dozens of double albums. Our sale on 1LPs was a huge hit, so we're now offering it on select 2LPs and giving our best customers (you) first access. Check out dozens of 2LPs we're giving away for just the cost of shipping. Act fast: these deals will go quickly. Secret Specials
Well, like I said last year, if Amazon all of a sudden offered all the same albums for $15 a pop we'd all be saying, "Whoa-hoh! What a great sale!" I just bought 3 LPs for about $11 a piece. That works for me. I don't care that they're not actually "free" or whether or not it's a tax write off. It's a stupid good deal. And this year they got me all three LPs within a week with no fiascos like the live Cream set with two copies of the second LP.
Sure, but 20% sales tax... like... isn't a thing that actually exists. Nothing SoV does makes sense, so... I guess it makes sense?
Yea, unless they add to this latest group ima have to pass. Anything on there I like I've already got.
My order was $43 incl tax for 4 (Stones - On Air and Bridges To Babylon, Allmans Filmore, and Mariah). Tattoo You sold out while I was checking out.
That’s a really good point. While it can vary by state, generally shipping isn’t taxed if the item isn’t taxed.
Eh I was going to get Motown Christmas - but $14 shipping. Last time they were all $7 shipping. For some titles, 14 is still worth it though.
So instead of paying $34.98 for three albums to SOV, I should have paid Amazon $74.25 for the same three albums, because the sales tax is more reasonable?
I'm not questioning the price point or your purchasing decisions. I'm just saying that - as per usual - SoV's business model is equal parts shady, nonsensical, and inexplicable. EDIT: To reinforce my point, the taxes remain $2.80 no matter how many items you order. Like... wut?! So bizarre.
the selections are few and some of the titles are overpriced at a penny (yes that includes the Eve rapper album...doubt anyone but her extended family members would buy that at this point)......
Its baffling how a large company like this has such a garbage website. The ROI to fix it would be immediate I would think.
I wonder if Tattoo You and the other Sold Out titles will come back in stock similar to what's been happening in the original iteration of this sale.
shopify is a very good platform, actually! these dorks clearly just don't bother employing anyone who knows how to use it or get it set up right. pretty pathetic given UMG is a global money making juggernaut.
Got my SOV order of four Tom Petty LPs and the Amy Winehouse picture disc in today, without a shipping notification or anything. All the TPs sound killer, they're 2022 represses of the 2016 Grundeman/Bellman cuts. And for a picture disc, the Winehouse record sounds very good too — plus my wife loves her and TP, so it's a win-win all around!
I placed a total of 3 orders—one arrived today and of course it was the last of the 3 that I placed. Box arrived this afternoon and roughly 40 min later I got an email with the shipping notice from SOV for it. So yeah, business as usual here really hahaha
Just curious; Did yours come in one box? I received 10 separate notifications yesterday on my 10 purchases, looking like there would be 10 shipments.
Same. second order with 4 albums I placed arrived yesterday in one box, and then I got the individual shipping notices. 6 double LPs came out to 59 + tax for those keeping score. 3 would have been 33 + tax.
