No, it's 'Body Love' that's the porn soundtrack. 'Picture Music' is just a regular old album.

There's two Porno Sonic volumes, done in the style of 70's films with some dialog sprinkled in. Ron Jeremy was a guest for some of the dialog. "Spiderp***y" has quite a rousing vocal performance.

Most of them used stock or stolen music, I'd imagine. Somewhere in my memory banks is hearing the theme song for Judge Wapner's People's Court TV show in an Annette Haven film, 1001 Erotic Nights.

Thanks everyone, some good info here, I'll have to start checking into some of these.

And yes, as far as the films go, once you've seen one, you've pretty much seen them all, but there are definitely some unique soundtracks out there.

Most are terrible, but there were some innovative and artistically attractive films released in the mid 70s, especially out of Europe. This is likely not the place to discuss those... The advent of video cameras (instead of film) and big money killed off innovation around 1980.

On a side note, there was a 1976 movie called "La marge", not porn but sure X-rated. Its soundtrack featured 3 Elton John tracks and Shine on you crazy diamond. I don't know how they were able to do it.

That's a track called "The Big One" from the 1975 BBC series The Hanged Man, which was then used in adult films. Oddly enough, it's now part of the APM stock music library.

I know what you mean about stolen, though. While watching Psyched by the 4D Witch I was surprised to hear Floyd's "A Saucerful of Secrets" used throughout.

Unfortunately I don't have any vinyl/CDs of adult movie soundtracks, though I have seen them over the years in record stores. I have a digital rip of two or three albums from the "Deep Note: Music From 1970s Adult Cinema" series with a selection of songs from movies like Soul Sisters, New Rose in Paris, Amsterdam Weekend, The Sexorcist, etc. It's a fun listen, that's for sure.

I am impressed and surprised that there are so many adult film soundtracks. I would have guessed that there were few if any.

I remember seeing a porn movie a few decades ago that used the Allman Bros Live At Fillmore East in the background (or is it backround?)
I thought they would have approved probably.

Very common theme. Was thinking of Barbara Broadcast as well. On a side note....Annette Haven was heaven. Dear goodness!

This is such a great album, no matter where the music came from. So campy, so good...

I know that Teenage Cruisers is in demand for rockabilly collectors. After seeing the film 40 years ago I know why. Pretty good energetic original songs.

I really liked the LA punk group The Plugz, when I heard them on the Repo Man soundtrack.
Looking out for more by them, it seems they didn't do much else, but they did contribute to a porn soundtrack, the Traci Lords movie New Wave Hookers.

@Trace, I have the Light In The Attic reissues of both Deep Throat and Deep Throat2. They both sound pretty awful. My cover of Deep Throat is different than the one you show in your post.

The first one was a gift from a buddy. I bought the sequel to complete the collection.

A guy's got to do what a guy's got to do.

I saw Deep Throat in the theater during its first release. A coed group from my college dorm went to a movie theater in San Francisco's Mission District, then a hellhole, to see it. I have read the soundtrack album might have been available at a table in the lobby. It was in many theaters. Although I was a record collector even in 1972, getting the LP wasn't my biggest concern that evening. It was making sure I got out of that theater without needing a shot of penicillin.

Best title ever - I can't find any evidence that this movie ever existed with this title, but I really want to believe it did.

I really enjoyed this movie. It was sort of a melancholy artsy movie with Sylvia Kristel. I believe 10cc's "I'm Not in Love" was also on the soundtrack.

On a related note, ELP's "The Barbarian" is the soundtrack on an Annie Sprinkle film-played over and over again. I can't think of the song in the same way anymore.

Not in the full on hardcore but still essential soundtrack list is Piero Piccioni's soundtrack to "Camille 2000". A wonderful kitschy lounge style collection of songs, IMO. Very similar to the Jess Franco soundtracks mentioned earlier in the thread. I bought it on CD years ago. I'm not sure if it's still in print or not.

I am going to use this excuse the next time my wife catches me watching porn: “No sweetie, I just watch for the music.” If she misunderstood what you said when you said were “mastering” that could have been a messy situation.

Plugz changed their name to Cruzados...
    from wikipedia:
The Cruzados were formed in 1984 by the third incarnation of The Plugz, featuring members Tito Larriva, Steven Hufsteter, Chalo Quintana and Tony Marsico. They were picked as "the next big thing" by both their musical peers and music critics[who?], and they received praise from the likes of Bob Dylan, John Fogerty, David Byrne, Brian Setzer, and Billy Joel.[citation needed] The Cruzados would record three albums for Arista Records but only two would be released.[1]

I'll never forget as a kid watching a movie that we 'borrowed' from an uncle. During one of the scenes, the music started to play, and we were shocked; it was 'Here We Go Again' by Dj Jazzy Jeff and The Fresh Prince! Of course, later on we realized that it was a song that they sampled for 'HWGA', called "Westchester Lady".
