What's that got to do with it? It's just my opinion.

I thought it was overwritten. Too much gobbledegook.
I think they're still doing the things that ruined Raimi's
association with the franchise which is not keeping it
    simple.

Yes. I think of it as the "Hollywood teen" look. They're ALWAYS at least five years older than their characters. It's kinda ludicrous.

Tom Holland at least plays a convincing teenager, but sometimes when he's on screen I think I'm watching a Disney sitcom. Yeah, I just can't be helped!

Yeah, this series has a "Saved by the Bell" vibe.

One thing I thought interesting was the "Sensoround" or whatever
system they used at the drive-in. We get audio-produced percussion
waves in theatres but in a small sedan it causes the whole car to shake.
    I thought that pretty neat.

Most of the 250 characters are minor and forgettable, and they couldn't sustain an entire film. They have access to a wide variety of Spiderman-related characters, but I tend to doubt that they could do as well as the Spiderman franchise. I don't dispute that Venom did unexpectedly well.

BTW, it'd be nice if you lost the green type and narrow margins in your messages. We all like to be individualists, but it's hard to read on some screens.

I liked the film quite a bit. I've kept it as my 2nd favorite Spider-Man film (right under Raimi's masterpiece, Spider-Man 2) since I saw it, but my traditional waiting period for seeing new movies a 2nd time (one month) is nearing a close, so maybe my estimation will go up when I see it again.

Mysterio's illusions were fantastic. The crew really nailed translating the comic book element into film. Some of the best special effects I've seen ever, honestly.

The problem here I feel is that the producers of these flicks
don't seem to understand the characters. I'd rather have space
among the baddies instead of this "House of Frankenstein"
overkill. Raimi's third, I've not seen it, didn't need a Goblin
side story. Brock can carry a film.

Also, Pete was very much a loner. That's part of the magic
of the books – he's on his own for the fear of being revealed.
That last post-credit scene really kills the whole suspense of
who knows who and how that affects relationships. While it's
good he has a pal in this version, it ruins Pete's bumbling
attempts at secrecy, that has suspense of its own and plenty
    of comic relief potential.

In the end, this kitchen-sink style of production is the anti-
thesis of the publishing trade. While I understand a film has
only so much time to build a story, some of these tropes need
time across a series of films before they unfold in the open.

As an example, back to The Goblin: We need to have time
with Pete and Harry with father barely mentioned for us to
grasp the deadly potential among these three. Have them
as pals, if only superficially at first, as that reflects the true
nature of their relationship initially. They became better pals
over time, only to have that intersect with the events that
created The Goblin. Plenty of good villains to build another
story in the meantime as that Goblin pot slowly rolls to a boil.

Well, that's a bit of a spoiler. You might warn people before you reveal the end of the film.

Don't ever believe that you know more than the studio or the producers. I suspect they have a game plan in mind, and this overall plot problem will be addressed in future installments. Don't forget that time-travel is now an official part of the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

[Still hating the green text, weird font, and bad margins, BTW.]

Nah, not really. I'm careful. I'd side with you on producer peccadilloes,
but since this is the second reboot, I'm gonna stand me ground.

As far as "The Marvel Universe" jazz, that's fine, for The Avengers.
But as a reader of the books since The '70s, and believe me, there
were a lot of BUM stories in The '70s, as I mostly read reprints
of the Lee / Ditko / Romita era, I prefer my Spidey solo and
    without all that Spandex® baggage.

As I said initially, Spidey was originally a cops'n'robbers thing,
on the rung with Dick Tracy. Very similar in some ways.

I read the books starting in 1965, picking them up new off the stand. And I don't write in weird green fonts.

I started in the 60's also and while there was definite 'cops & robbers' storylines, the incredible rogues gallery that was created within the 1st 12-18 issues can't be overlooked. The majority of these heavy hitters were science fiction based. And yeah, while Spiderman was/is a solo act, the truth is, from the beginning, he's always had guest stars (Spiderman #1 featured the FF!) or appeared in other books. And than they gave him his own 'team-up' title! I would guess that he's the #1 Marvel guest star and has been since the beginning. So he's a solo act, but not really! Gotta say, the green font thing bugs me also!;)

You just know Marvel's gonna put it out as a new title (as soon as they run out of words with an "X" in it)...

    "Proctologist...Proctologist...your Scary Inflatable Protcologist!

Laptop here, NO phone. Default skin. Contrast is fine.

True, with the "Team Up" title. Plenty of guest appearances
in FF, etc. I just think Spidey is most effective in his own
claustrophobic existence. Sometimes frenemy Torch swoops
in to help, etc. But watching Pete figure a way out was part
of the fun of the early books. We got the ensemble with
    "The Avengers".

It seems to me no one can really crack "The Fantastic Four"
or "Spider-man" and they are arguably Marvel's most popular titles.

The "X" titles has far surpassed the FF in popularity, been that way for decades!

Interesting. I began reading after Stan began managing so I missed
his stories in real time. Try hard as they might, the successors made
a lot of miscalculations in my opinion.

I think one of the coolest storylines Stan ever cooked up ( I think it
was his ) was when Harry got hooked on pills and Norman goes off
the rails and becomes The Goblin again. I don't think he returns in
a story as that character for another five years. Gil Kane drew a
    pretty mean Goblin.

Like Homecoming, I enjoyed Far from Home quite a bit. Jake Gyllenhaal's Mysterio was brilliantly handled on screen and the illusory sequences were quite breathtaking to watch. Again, Tom Holland nails it as your Friendly Neighbourhood Spider-Man/Peter Parker too. Also couldn't help but think about Michael J. Fox and Marty McFly every time Tom Holland was getting in character, lol.

The Post-credit surprise at the end was gold too. Can't wait to see more of this particular character in the next film. :)

SONY is very happy with it, it's about to pass Skyfall to become its new #1 grossing movie all-time.

Congratulations on coming to the conclusion that "rudeness" to somebody legitimately in the business, who contributes a lot to this forum, is a "style". Work that, sister!

I think he was just being tactful and you were purposely ignoring, and baiting him. It doesn't really give you any cred in the maturity area, either.

What's the point of all this, really? I'm NOT in the business, who cares?
What does that have to do with my content? Who's baiting? What "tact"
was employed? If someone doesn't like the content, simply ignore.

For what, p!ssing matches that aren't my doing?
Maybe you should tell him that. But more effective
    is the "Ignore" feature.

Anyway ... Disney oughta take over Spider-man.
Maybe we'll get much tighter stories.

Is this going to become a thing?

'Spider-Man: Far From Home' Scores Labor Day Rerelease With 4 Minutes of New Footage

Borrowing a page from the Avengers: Endgame playbook, Sony will rerelease Spider-Man: Far From Home with four minutes of new footage over Labor Day weekend.

Far From Home became the top-grossing Sony movie of all time at the global box office over the weekend after surpassing the James Bond installment Skyfall (2012), not adjusted for inflation. Through Sunday, the superhero film's global gross stood at $1.109 billion, compared to $1.108 billion for Skyfall.
