I suppose your plasma screen doesn't have any smart functions/apps as recent smart tv's do? Just in case it does, I have the Kodi app installed on my smart lcd tv and a hard disc connected by usb to the tv. That's it! Once you have started the kodi app on your tv, you can turn the screen off and control all the music on your harddisc by their Kore app (for Kodi, android or iphone) on your smartphone (this does require wifi on your smartphone of course). Or, with your screen on, you can also use the tv's remote to navigate. Tv can be hardwired to your router if you prefer this over wifi.
    Very cheap, very easy.

You can buy a used 2012 MacBook Pro for as little as $400. I use one as a self-contained server running different audio apps hardwired to my DAC, or via AirPlay to multiple Airport Express units throughout my home. Fully controllable via iPhone or iPad. Digital music library stored internally, or externally on FireWire or USB drives. Hi-res music fully supported as per your DAC.
Also doubles as a second home computer, should you need it.
