  1. Ditto this, if there's too much static I wash or rinse them at the sink quickly
and towel them dry. Little or no static remains.

Not a stupid question... The other end of that wire should be attached to a ground point to bleed off the static charge. :)

I use a micro fiber cloth and lightly mist it with Static Guard.

Just apply this thickly all over the disc and you will hear no more static, in fact you will not hear anything at all......:D

Does anyone here remember the spray solution from Stanton in the early 80's called Perma-Stat?

that should work perfectly...attach to the metal shelf brackets...drill a small hole and run the wire through and wrap or solder.

and I have to say that since I've been grounding myself (toe and finger on cast iron leg) I've not had one static problem with cleaned records. Will try a non-cleaned album right now...

Grounding the spindle-bearing assembly, if it is accessible, can reduce static significantly.

If you use a record cleaning machine, don't over-vacuum the records.

Washing with tap water can leave mineral on the records. Distilled/deionized water is better.

Since using the Spin Clean and using MOFI sleeves static hasn't been a noticeable problem, but winter will be very dry - radiator heating on the plains.
How can a wire be attached to my carbon fibre brush?

Where's McGroober when we need him. I would think drilling a small hole at the end, inserting the end of a 3' long piece of wire with a tiny knot on the end, wrapped in tin foil so it doesn't pull out too easily and voila...

I know that brush in the pics above does actually have the wire built right in...think you can still buy them...
