Yeah, I've been considering since my e-mail arrived, earlier today. I have so much Steppenwolf already. Started buying in 1968 after all.

Listening to Kevin's work on the S/T debut vinyl ( SACD too ), and wishing Sept. 22nd was closer.

Again, here we have another release that I have a clean original of on vinyl, so no real need for this at my house.

I remember the album cover but never owned a copy .

I never did either, not even on 8 track. But by the time I started driving in '75, 16 Greatest Hits had already been out 3 years, and was the most popular option.
I like that it'll have taken me 47 years to finally buy this. In superior SQ no less. :tiphat:

I wore out an 8 track of 16 Greatest Hits. Played it daily on lunch break in HS sitting in the car.

I never even saw this album that I can remember. I'll have to check it out. Glad it's being done by AP. Why, they're even better at making records than 4 Men With Beards! Golly. Jeepers even. :D

Not trying to be choosy. I'm really glad this is being done but I wish they would've done "16" instead. More songs would've been better, no?

Allow me to rephrase. I meant nowadays. MCA had terrible vinyl quality. They were especially cheap. I'm sure the songs appearing on both albums will sound better on the new Gold and it is unlikely to be a subtle difference.

That was the case with the first Steppenwolf album KG did for Analogue Productions (I think?).

If you're asking if he did the S/T debut for AP, yes he did.

Not asking. I own it but I'm not at home so I didn't remember who he did it for. It sounds far better than 16.

Originals of "Gold" as heard on a west coast Monarch are pretty rocking' slab 'o wax I can tell you. Sounds like good low gen tapes were used for original cut.

I think Unipac style G/F is on originals.

The recent mono singles collection (cd) is all I need. Got most of the albums on original vinyl too...

This and Three Dog Night's "Golden Biscuits" were two of my favorite albums when I was 10 years old. They have stood the test of time imo.
