The attraction of the obi is that according to the press release, they're made out of tape used during the recording sessions.
I bet the clear vinyl versions will also be availiable in indie stores after the first weeks of release. stores around me still carry the clear vinyl editions of the switched on reiusses. the only "extra" you'll get by ordering online is the obi strip. the only lp that is a must buy for me is Transient... to replace my okay-ish sounding but 100% not analogue 1972 reissue pressing of Transient and sent my crackly vg+ copy of the original pressing in retirement. with the exception of the locked groove missing, the 1972 issue still sounds ok for what it is.
The groops manager confirmed on their forums that Volume 4 will definitely be happening once they get this reissue campaign out of the way.
That's fantastic! Next to the stray tour singles and odd bonus tracks from the past 20 years, I've often wondered what's still unreleased ever since Aluminum Tunes came out in 1998. Looking forward to this...
Boo to Pitchfork! They aren't headlining. Playing the same night as B&S, which will probably cause conflict or overlapping sets. I'd have to see the actual schedule before I go. I think I'll just stick with my longer drive to see a full set in Detroit...

The "Switched On" titles aren't technically part of this reissue series. They were issued independently, and no black vinyl versions exist other than originals.
Secured my ticket for a June show. Time to dig out 'Emperor' to celebrate. They were so good back in the mid 90's, but I never got to see them play live. This could prove to be one of my bucket list gigs!
Since our tv in France broadcasted a fantastic tv show about Etienne Daho (heavily Beach Boys/Syd Barret influenced artist and collaborator of Saint Etienne, Françoise Hardy...). Daho par Daho So I got a kick in his old lps of him. Dug my old « la notte la Notte » vinyl from 1984 and was impressed how he kind of invited the Streolab feel long before the band itself. Try this song « poppy gene tierney ».
