    Steve,

I love the DCC 'Pet Sounds' album (as you know) but I have a question about some vocal distortion on "I Know There's An Answer". Is it on the tape or is it just my vinyl copy? I can't remember which verse it happens (foggy memory) but it just kind of jumps out of the beatiful mix. I consider the DCC version to be the best out there...

"I'm Waiting For The Day" has a bunch of vocal distortion.

Everything else is pretty clean, though. Could be your cartridge is mistracking. That's a tough one to keep in the grooves!

Thanks, Steve. It could be the cart mistracking on those verses. I have a Dynavector 10x4 and it's a good tracker but it does have it's weaknessess. I hope it doesn't damage the grooves when it happens. Everything else on the record seems to track fine. Ya don't hold anything back when you cut these records... I'm also impressed everytime I listen to this album how well you brought out the character/atmosphere of the studio. The coughs/whispers/environment in the background adds to the magic...
