well at least give him a chance...after all he did some fine movies...I love him for Jurassic Park alone a childhood dream come true to see Dinosaurs on the big screen that seemed to look alive and real...
I guess it's a decent cash cow...if the remake is well made I like it...but in 2022? how can it be safe from the pc police?
That scene when Bullitt's car appears in the assassins rear view mirror, with the refraction of light on the mirror edge, and score's music pulse taking hold, and the assassin's 'what-the-hell?' expression, is something Spielberg should aspire to. Not repeat, but a scene that singularly great.
Good luck, Steven. He’s enjoying himself with projects that stem from films he loves. Posters who think this a bad idea probably thought Dr No should be the only James Bond film.
If it's a sequel instead of a remake, maybe they'll cast the grandson and then use CGI to age Bullitt to him to McQueen's age now, which would be 92 this year. A chase in this one could involve golf cars in a retirement community. BTW--Spielberg wanted to direct a James Bond film--with Connery--back in the '70's.
I heard that Spielberg guy has a great track record when it comes to directing films, so I'll keep an open mind to it and am interested.
Apparently, Spielberg loves failure. He didn't get the hint when the West Side Story remake bombed at the box office, what makes him think this will be any different?
If they re-make it, maybe they could give him a better car next time, something like a Camero, which they could have used, first time round. Are there enough green VW beetles left in the world for the car chase?
It’s a fine movie, though. Expertly and thoughtfully done. It’ll make its money back in time. Anyway, I don’t see how a Bullitt sequel is anywhere near comparable.
