Or they fall behind, don't follow the path that made them successful and become boring. Lol

That's not a bass guitar on his back, is it a lute? ;)

Not sure what it is, but at his age would anyone rule out a comfy seat cushion? :p

Yeah that art is baaaad. Hopefully the album isn't.
Maybe its symbolic....kind of like Sting saying he knows what people want and can make rock n roll in his sleep type of thing. Why not use a completely artificial album cover.

He looks like he is walking across the street to try out for a part in "The Expendables 4"

The two music snippets I've heard are at least promising enough I'm interested.

Guys, the album cover could have been much worse.

Remember the best of LP a couple years ago with Sting topless, standing in the river, holding a guitar?

Now picture him undressed on the street corner... just saying!

So Stings much herald foray back into rock where he belongs and you guys nit pick the album cover like a bunch of school girls? lol...who cares about the art here's to hoping this album contains no lute....and kicks ass like we know Sting can. Gimme Ten Summoner's Tales vol. 2 or give me death.

Hey! I liked The Last Ship. I'm entitled to talking smack on a silly album cover. :p

Incidentally, I wish I was a better hand with photoshop, because I'm now envisioning someone slicing the superimposed image of Sting from the album art and plopping him in strange and amusing new climes. Underwater 57th and 9th? Sahara Desert? Perhaps he can appear in famous, historical settings.

I thought the album cover was ok. Not bad, not great, just ok. Fit for a fall release.

A gun? That changes my idea of what the cover is implying, but it seems like a very un-Sting prop if so.

  16. Sting has to defend himself from over-zealous fans who will only accept music if made with SC and AS. Or from those who would like to settle the score of the lute excursion.

I agree, the cover could have been much, much, worse :yikes::yikes::yikes::

The first single is on Spotify and it sounds pretty cool..."I Can't Stop Thinking About You"

First impression was that it easily could be a new Bryan Adams single. Not neccesarily a bad thing but not what I expect from Sting.

After a while it starts to appeal to me more. It's catchy, got energy. The best thing about it to me though is that little Dominic Miller riff at the beginning.

And that there is by far the most he's ever sounded like the Police in his solo work.

    It's good.
Sounds like a lot The Police.
Why didn't he just make the album with the other two and have a new Police album?

Haven't heard it yet but it sounds like he is going all out for a final big album...

I think it might be because they don't respect his ego like session musicians does in a solo project. I'm guessing he likes to be challenged musically to push his own boundries but not to be pushed by others if you understand.

I guess the reunion tour was ok for him but that a creative piece of work with the two others are much harder.

Anyway, this is just me guessing based on what I've seen/heard documented.
