Ufommamut's "Eve" is in my 'to play' pile along with Age of Taurus and Iron Man. So much stoner rock, so little time!

How about "In A Gadda Da Vida" by Iron Butterfly?? The rest of the album is OK but IAGDV is the centerpiece.

Off the top of my head

Incredible String Band - 5000 Spirits
    Can - Tago Mago
    Eno - Another Green World
    Le Mystere des Voix Bulgares
Augustus Pablo - Meets Rockers Uptown
Popol Vuh - Herz aus Glas
    Kraftwerk - Trans Europe Express
Esquivel - Space Age Bachelor Pad Music
McCartney - Pipes of Peace (way underrated stoner pop)
    The Roches - The Roches

Wow there are many more. I guess there's not a lot of rock or metal in this collection, but they're all good listening!

I haven't been a stoner for decades, but when I was it was, among many others
    Journey Infinity and Next
    DSOTM
Just about anything by Alan Parsons
    Rush 2112 and FTK
Steve Miller Band Fly Like An Eagle and Book Of Dreams
    Anything by The Moody Blues

and of course... Muzak and elevator music.

Edit: and Animals. I lived on the third floor of a building and had a nice balcony. I remember being stoned out of my head listening to Animals and hearing that damn dog bark and wondering who was being rude by not tending to their damn dog.

Agree with everyone who mentioned Ufomammut, Eve is probably my favorite by them, but its hard to just pick one of their albums as a favorite. They are one of the few metal bands that sounds great when tripping imo especially Eve.

The title of the thread isn't "stoner psychedelic rock / metal." It begins "Stoner thread" and continues from there. I thought the slashes meant 'and/or' which would make it "stoner thread, essential albums of a stoner and/or psychedelic rock and/or metal collection.' If you guys are going to be picky with your stoner music, you should make sure your threads have more specific titles.

I know what stoner rock is but the title doesn't actually have those two words next to each other, does it?

    yeah it is:

    essential albums of a Stoner/Psychedelic rock/metal collection

could someone explain to me how Slayer, 80's Paul McCartney & Kraftwerk fall under the banner of stoner/psychedelic rock/metal?

Pink Floyd Dark Side Of The Moon is pretty freaky when you have headphones on and your just on the verge of sleep. "On The Run" us the track that just freaked me out. Swirling back and forth in the headphones.

They're stoner music, and you misquoted the title in your first post. Settle down, Beavis.
