But is really expanded? 40th Mixes was in fact an expanded edition

    No. 10 tracks stereo/mono.
No expanded and it's deluxe due to unseen photographs and some liner notes. Good price for deluxe edition.

Well, in fairness to The Doors and Warner, since the early 2000's, expanded two disc sets have been referred to as "deluxe" editions.

    yes, good price

$19.98 for 2 cd set and $21,98 for bran new repress Mono version makes $41.96 for 2 CD and 1 LP, expensive than the S/T Deluxe set

I am not an insider but the doors' page doesn't mention anything about. No limited, no numbered. Is your source valid?

I'm very happy that we are getting a digital release of the mono mix. The mono of the first album is more of a curio, but for this one, it's a very good mix!

    Don't forget about Jampol's 50th Anniversary t-shirt bundle offer for $39.98.

    Coasters? This isn't Pink Floyd!

How is it expanded if, musically, it is identical to the original album?

So these are new remasters of the original album that will differ from the late 90s remasters?

I already have the 12 disc set of doubles in perception. I am not sure I need these. Was the first album any different than the 90s remaster?

Looking at DR site it appears the 50th are full dynamic range versions and new remasters. But why the hell does the first album come with an LP lol. Not everyone wants that. I don't even collect LPs.

Is the ST worth it in the 50th edition with the LP? Is the new CD master good?

Oh wait I think I found the deluxe without the LP. A bit confusing here.

It is the Japanese version I guess. And that is the only one with the 3 CDs and no LP. Is this set worth 40 bucks?

Album details - Dynamic Range Database

The Doors HDCD version in 99 was DR8 and the rest were in the DR8-DR11 range. I wonder how this one sounds at DR11. I can get the Japanese 3 CD set for about 40 so I probably will do so I guess. I'm a Doors fan, and why not to be honest. But seriously a complete matrix set like VU that is affordable would be awesome.

If anyone has any summaries of the 50th remaster that would be great. Any major differences from 1999? I don't mind the 99 masters at all either.

On 1968/09/25, The Doors released this fine album. Happy Anniversary to their greatest album.

It is the original mix, without the flown in elements.

...why would The Doors include the London fog recording with strange days album? Because they performed one song from the album?

    ...incorrect.

...anything included outside of the original release is considered a deluxe/expanded material.

    Yes :)

Why did you say we were in for a special treat when this is pretty much a bare bones release?

It's bad enough Pats seemingly making things up to make it look like they are in some way connected, are you doing the same?

Well, I'm very happy that Days is getting a digital mono release - and hoping against hope that the mastering is as good as the Singles box set apparently is.
