    Wow !

I was dreaming of seeing the difference between an inexpensive Stanton 500 spherical stylus versus say a Denon 103 or Shelter 301 or Ortofon SPU.

    Inexpensive versus expensive

    Nude versus bonded

    Things like that !

    Thanks

So this is a cheap(er) bonded stylus we're looking at? Gosh, it seems like it would be harder to fabricate this, than just working with a whole chunk of diamond!

Actually, it looks like your stylus was ground incorrectly with the trailing side having much more ground off than the leading side. The "flat" spots should be equal when viewed from the point end.

Wear from records would occur on the rounded parts of the point opposite the "flats". There appears to be very little wear here on your stylus, as one would expect after so few hours of use.

    Wonderful photos, by the way!

    I just love a nude-mounted stylus
