I don't know...the "Me Generation"......a decade of fads and crazes that was not without its problems. We were
witnessing the seedy side of politics......inflation,oil crisis,unemployment...Elvis died, the Mobile phone invented, turned us all into
communications junkies:hide:.....There was some good things happening ,rock music was evolving with punk, funk, new wave,disco:help:...TV programming was expanding wth the start of cable tv ....more socially aware shows, comedies, educational programs.Star Wars premiered, the start of the whole media saga franchise.Don't forget when The Sony Walkman appeared ,really was an important breakthrough ,like a cellphone would come to be.....but, what do I know.......? gotta go check on my pet rock and
    water my chia pet.

Hey I know those guys! It was pretty much every teenager I hung out with in the late 70’s. Just swap out the odd assortment of posters there for Kiss, Rush, and the Nuge posters and there you are. Or there I was I meant.

Our generation (born in ‘68) has seen some stuff, as do all generations. I think it’s the sheer speed that things have advanced that sometimes make me feel dizzy.

If they ever build a time machine, this is the first decade I visit.

Specifically, where would you go in that decade? For me, it would be Brasil (even though it was under a dictatorship). The music coming out at that time (and the culture) were fantastic. I'd love to see Elis Regina in concert.

Notice in the video above that the statue of Christ over Rio wasn't even built yet

I would have loved to have gone to The Last Waltz concert, anywhere to see Springsteen during the Darkness tour, CBGBs to see early Talking Heads or Television, and The Sex Pistols first show in the union hall in Manchester, just to be able to say I was one of few there. Just about anywhere else to be able to relive that fantastic decade. And to stop myself from buying a new 1977 Honda Civic, which turned into a bucket of rust in two years!

It would have been cool to see Bob Marley perform as well, I think. A punky reggae party!!

Ha! And the 60’s more so than either.
Changed radically right around the middle of the decade.
