    BOND25..
    He’ll be 52, same age as Connery when he did Never Say Never.

    The age isn't a problem as long as the dude is fit and looks the part.

    Connery was bald and looked and acted like an old man. Tom Cruise has been older than 52 in the last M:I flicks but he makes it works. So did Stallone at the age of 60 in the last Rambo.

    The fight scene ( urine sample )in Never Say Never was better than the last couple of Bond films. Just mo.

    I personally think Henry Cavill is the perfect next Bond for a number of reasons;

    * He'll be in his late 30's by the time EON settle on a new Bond... the perfect age to get at least a decades' worth of films out of him.

    * He was runner-up in 2005 next to Daniel Craig, and Casino Royale director Martin Campbell was especially keen on him... what tipped the balance in The Craig's favor was they decided on an older actor, and they were right, Cavill was far too young at that point in time.

    * He's actually a much better actor than he's given credit for... we all know he can handle action like a pro, but he can be quite suave and sardonically funny as well... The Man From UNCLE proved that.

    * I have a theory that the next Bond will be a more 'traditional' iteration - girls, guns, gadgets, gags - that won't continue the post-9/11 grittiness of the Craig era... people want to have fun at the movies again, as the astonishing creative and commercial success of the MCU has proven, and don't think for a second that the Bond producers haven't noticed that... WB/DC certainly have, and changed the entire look and tone of their extended universe accordingly. Cavill would be perfect for that approach.

    * Most importantly; he looks the part... he's British, around six-foot in height, dark hair, etc. He could pass for Fleming's literary character no problem.

    * One last thing; thanks to his role as Superman, Napoleon Solo, and in last year's Mission: Impossible: Fallout, he has both name and face recognition, which won't hurt the cause of the next 007... especially after such a long and popular tenure as The Craig has had.

    But look, that's all at least two years away, so let's just see what the upcoming Bond film next year is like... although however it turns out, it will undoubtedly and inevitably be somewhat overshadowed by rampant speculation as to Craig's successor... it's already begun and Craig's last 007 outing hasn't even started shooting yet!!!

    I thought Connery looked his oldest as Bond in "Diamonds". He actually seemed younger in "NSNA"!

    All this talk of Cavill as Bond makes me shake my head in wonder. I don't see a solitary reason why he should even be considered for the role. The rumors about him possibly doing it were abundant a while back, along with strong buzz for Idris Elba, but I think it was just Hollywood hype to promote UNCLE. He's nowhere near the actor Daniel Craig or Sean Connery is, so I guess a Cavill Bond will be more along the lines of Roger Moore. I've never seen a single Moore/Bond movie. Who knows, I may never see a Cavill/Bond either!;)

    Well we live in tough times so maybe we’ll get more brute force with the likes of Tom Hardy, though he may be reluctant to be typecast.

    Seems like people focus on him because he's about the right age, he's British, and he's handsome. He also was in "Man from UNCLE" so he has some experience as a not-dissimilar character - albeit as an American secret agent.

    Maybe Cavill would do fine in the role, but I still don't think he's much of an actor. Nothing I've seen from him tells me he can pull of the role...

  16. “Old” is different then than now just as it was then compared to the 50’s.

    Honestly, Cavill is ok as Superman but for me, he's never 'owned' the role. Due to substandard scripts and his own limited acting abilities, I don't think he'll be missed all that much. Gadot as WW has had the most impact, SHE'D be missed! IF they bring in a charismatic replacement and IF they can write a good script, maybe they'll figure out the mystery behind making a successful Superman movie! But I'd actually like to see Cavill get another shot though. Giving him another chance would be the 'super-thing' to do!;)
