The only two albums of theirs I have heard are Dead end Kings and Fall Of Hearts .... and so far essentially just once each
I enjoyed both, but don't feel in a place where I could recommend one over the other

I had the day off today and brought down a couple of trees on my father's property. Got everything delimbed and to the burn pile with the trees cut up for splitting.

I still made it home in time to an empty house for a reference level listen of Steven Wilson's - Hand Cannot Erase. His best solo album I'm thinking.

    Followed by a nap.

    You can have it all.

That album is a serious contender for any attempt at a top 5 list too

Since the price for the whole box is steep (to say the least), the Wilson 5.1 mix of In the Land of Grey & Pink (on DVD) has been out for a while on its own (reviewed by riskylogic here).

I'm hoping that the effort in putting it on bluray in a more hi definition release will result in a separate release later on...
I'm not familiar enough with the band to get this

For what it's worth (possibly very little) I didn't cotton to The Land of Grey and Pink at all despite SW's surround mix.

Thanks risky I will add my list after listening to all of my multi channel SACD's, DVD-A's, and Bluray Audio.

Friday night I listened to my 2003 Epic Quad mix of Deep Purples Machine Head. The last time I listened to it was on my Denon 2910 player which was obviously not working correctly or my settings were not correct. Regardless I know have an OPPO BDP 94 as well as BDP 103. That Oppo went out of business is a shame. I did get the Oppo 205 UBDP flagship player but I could not resist and sold it on E Bay for 3 times what I paid for it.

Anyway back to "MACHINE HEAD" UK Epic 2003

This is an outstanding multi channel mix using the original 1972 quad mix remastered. I listened to it at reference level. Blackmore's guitar leads are consistently moving about especially trough the front R an L and center with occasional rear left and right. The same with John Lords keyboards. Ian Gillian's vocals are mostly front and center and his harmonica playing on "Lazy" is center channel. Of course if your a fan of DP you know that every song on this album is excellent. It was obvious to me after the opening track "Highway Star" that my old Denon, which is what I last played this disc on, was not on the same level as my Oppo 103 BDP.

"LIVE EVIL" Japanese remaster quadrophonic 2020:

I also listened to Miles Davis' LIVE EVIL again at reference level. The tracks from the CELLER DOOR SESSIONS in Washington DC are the standouts on this disc. It gives an excellent multi channel mix using all 4 channel consistently throughout playback. I have the COMPLETE CELLER DOOR box set and I also listened to the 4 songs that they selected from the CD live sessions for the quad mix to compare the quad and stereo mixes. The quad mix really opens up the songs tremendously. The 4 songs are titled with length of play) "Sivad" 15:16, What I Say 21:12, Funky Tonk 23:28 and "Inamorata and Narration by Conrad Roberts" 26:30.

The quad mix had a ground hum loop buzz on all of the CD live songs that came and went, mostly very low through the left channel. This was not present on the stereo versions of the same song. It was not my gear for sure. I believe it may have been a flaw when it was remastered in quad. Anyone else hear this?

I look forward to any answers on the "ground loop hum issue" on the quad mix to see if it is present on all of the discs or just a flaw on some.

For those interested in classical chamber music in extreme surround, and can play DVD-Audio, German jpc has right now a great sale on Tacet recordings (here). There are also some Beethoven symphonies at the very end of the listing, again with the orchestra surrounding you.
