Franken-VPI cobbled together from various parts. I call it a TNT, but that’s only the plinth. It has a Classic platter, Fatboy 12” gimbal arm with VTA tower, Signature motor, Eden Sound feet. I also have a Sony PS-x600 and Sony PS-x555es that I take out every once in a while to remind myself how good the VPI is.

I’ll have to set up a photo hosting account, as I currently don’t have one.

I recently sold my Marantz Acrylic and purchased Rega's new Planar 8 with Apheta III MC cartridge.

Bob, Really cool turntable. Did you have Audioshield make the cover?

Modded Technics 1200 MKII. Plan to upgrade to a 1200 GR eventually. Just love how easy it is to balance, setup, and use and how well it performs for its price. Admittedly haven't dabbled with any belt drive tables yet.

Thanks so much, I had a plastics company make it to my specifications with 1/4" material with rounded edges, they did a very nice job, I just drew it out for them, they placed on AutoCAD and away they went. I have a somewhat dusty environment, don't know why, but everything seems to get dusty quickly, so the dust cover Rega included just did not cut the mustard, dust got in from every direction, except the top, and it turned out, that was not good enough. As you will see, I even omitted the side slots. This cover does get the job done correctly. All covers custom made to fit the specific turntable.

It's a beautiful cover, I used the same design on the marantz table that I just sold, as well as my VPI table I had before the Marantz.

Loved my VPI Scoutmaster, but I put it away, and am going to sell it, because now I love my VPI Prime Signature.

Once a Prime Signature is purchased, you will never need another turntable, everything else is just fluff! For those of you that might doubt my words, just start this video at 4.00 minutes and sit back and enjoy perfection! Until I am able to purchase perfection, I will just have to be happy with the Rega Planar 8, but I know that Signature is in my future sometime.

Those are indeed beautiful units. I certainly wouldn't mind owning one myself. But I dislike the uni-pivot arms. They just feel so delicate and fiddly to my fingers.

    I have 3:

    1. Pro-Ject Experience Classic feeding my Denon HT receiver (I've temporarily replaced the AT OC9 MC cartridge with an AT ML 440 as the OC9 needs re-tipping)
    2. Technics SL-1200 MK 2 (with KAB mods) fitted with an AT VM750SH cartridge connected to my Sansui QRX-9001 4-Channel Receiver
    3. Dual 1229Q with a JVC 4MD20 cartridge connected to a Lafayette LR-5000 4-channel receiver
