Andreas Johnson - I have everything he’s ever released in the English language except Village Idiot which seems to be unobtainable. I only know it exists because of a Wikipedia discography and from a few tracks I’ve heard on YouTube. I have never heard a bad Andreas Johnson studio album.
Crucified Barbara would be my go-to Swedish artist. An all-female hard rock band, they put out four good albums between 2005-2014 and disbanded in 2016. All bar the lead singer are in a new band, The Heard - which is more doom metal. There are heavier and more well-known songs, but my favourite is 'Electric Sky' for its simplicity. And who can forget The Cardigans...(I was never a fan, but Nina Persson was lovely).
Video wouldn't load/blocked in my country, but I was intrigued. Sound reminds me of a cross between glam r. & 90s alternative vibes. Atomic Swing - Like A John Needs A Yoko 1995 Japan (Live) - music begins @:31.
Not a favorite (yet), but recently I ordered an album by [ingenting], some Indie Rock band from Stockholm. I've heard of these guys many years ago already, their song 'En Bättre Dag' was on an Indie compilation I just re-found few days ago, so I thought of exploring more of them.
Yeah, there's an English language video, too (see below!). I'm Danish, but I grew up loving American and British artists. I never listened to lyrics written in any other languages. But then my brother, who was a big fan of Isola, gave me Hagnesta Hill as a Christmas present after I told him that I really rather liked "Musik Non Stop" (I actually loved it), and I absolutely loved the album, too, not least the track "Stanna Hos Mig" ("Stay With Me"). I always loved reading positive reviews of Kent records by Americans and British people on Amazon. Personally I prefer listening to Kent in Swedish rather than English.
