Pick your 5 favourite Stallone starring movies..I excluded the Franchise movies (Rocky, Rambo, Expendables & Escape Plan) and that early one The Party at Kitty & Studs for obvious reasons!

I had to combine the first two to one choice as there was one too many movies to fit in the 25 spaces you are allowed to fill.

Hard to pick just 5. I loved Escape to Victory.

    But as to quality:

    Oscar

    Cliffhanger

    Demolition Man

    Cop Land

    Bullet to the Head

Stallone's an entertaining actor who's downright good given a good script and direction.

And I don't care what anyone says, Oscar is a slapstick, comedic gem.

Cop Land is Sly's finest hour.
    Nighthawks is very underrated.
    Cobra is cheesy 80's fun.
Judge Dredd for the War robot and Ian Dury.

I also have a soft spot for Rhinestone due to my love for all things Dolly. Budweiser you created a monster, and they called him Drinkenstein.

This scene from Over The Top should have him an Academy Award.

Couldn't get further than 3 movies:
    Nighthawks
    Lock Up
    Cop Land

Guess i'm not a Stallone fan. 5 or 6 movies in that list i've never seen but most of the others are crap IMHO.

    No Death Race 2000?

Definitely Cop Land at the top for me. I also like The Lords Of Flatbush.

For all the scenery chewing in Cliffhanger, the opening sequence of that film is still one of the best opening scenes of all time.

Demolition Man is painfully on-the-nose satire.

  14. Lords Of Flatbush and Cop Land. That is all.

Edit: Cliffhanger was pretty good too.

    and for 5...Cobra

Felt Cop Land was a bit overrated myself. Stallone plays...normal guy! Is that really a stretch for an actor?

Stallone had 2 great years, 1982 and 1993. My favorite Rocky film (III), First Blood, Cliffhanger and Demolition Man. Outside of that, films like Over the Top, Cobra and Tango & Cash are fun, but also the dumb epitome of what Last Action Hero was satirizing.

Cop Land is the one that was a no brainer. Much further down: Cliffhanger, Nighthawks. Then...hard to pick two more...But I'll take Lords of Flatbush. And pass on #5.

Cop Land, without a doubt. I have not watched Lords of Flatbush yet. The trailer makes it look a little too low budget/amateur . Is it worth a watch?

It’s nice to see Cop Land getting so much love, Stallone really impressed me in that one. Now I’m going to have find it streaming somewhere.

Evidently I'm not the only one that thinks Nighthawks is a forgotten classic.
