I'm very interested in this, but fear the potential compression. I would appreciate someone commenting once they get it.

I agree, I have both of the T. Rex albums boxes and had been looking for a comp. with the missing singles etc. I think I’ll be in pretty good shape now. And the price is good for three discs!

  4. I preordered it. Three discs for 5 bucks including shipping. Incredible price point.

Eleven bucks is pretty cheap. Besides, if you don't have the singles not on the albums you get them here.

Great value, £6 for three discs. I just hope the profits go to the rightful heirs, and not some anonymous company in the Bahamas.

I got mine yesterday, having the hit singles together along make for great playing. For me disc 2 is like a new album, the singles didn't get played much over here.

  8. I have my copy in the queue on the stack to play. Hopefully over the weekend. As you wrote, nice to have these all together and for the price, you simply can’t go wrong!

Agree, there's no better way IMHO than using Castle/Marc On Wax and making your own compilations, the market is saturated by now surely?

Just picked up a copy of this.
There are 3 tracks from The Slider & 5 tracks from EW (not counting b-sides from those albums).

I got this on CD a while back because it was super cheap. Sound quality is decent - not a complete butchering but not something to write home about. Better than the Edsel album collection box, not as good as the Hip-O CD 20th Century Boy.

You're still getting 45 songs - 45 Marc Bolan songs, no less - for $10, max. It's worth picking up and there's nothing serious at risk if you worry about disliking it.

Geez, if you are whining about The Slider just buy that record. This is a singles collection, mostly. And valuable for that.

This is a really good compilation. There have been way over 100 Bolan/T.rex compilations over the past decades and this is definitely one of the very best. Admittedly most of the others have been complete rubbish, but at only £5 for 3cds this is a steal.

I don’t really get why this comp is even really being given any sort of serious debate. It comes down to this.
    1. Spend £6 get a very nice 3 disc assortment of a lot ot T Rex tunes.
    2. If for some reason it doesn’t thrill you file it away or throw it away.

And I probably have most of them.
I don't get too excited at Bolan on CD much these days.
    More into vinyl.

I bought this compilation a little while ago. I have Electric Warrior & The Slider and this and I'm pretty sure I've got all the T. Rex I need. Very inexpensive for 3 discs, too!

You certainly have the essential T.Rex recordings with those three sets for sure.

I'll get a copy as my copy of "The Ultimate collection" 1991 PolyGram disc fortunately copied to minidisc has bronzed itself into oblivion thanks to the infamous PDO Blackburn, Lancs plant coating issues. This 3 cd set pretty much has everything I want by T Rex in chronological order.

  24. Is this better than "Marc Bolan T. Rex Greatest Hits" from 2007?

It's the singles. How could it not have two tracks from The Slider?
