When a little mad with the Target card and placed an order for several of the new tone poets, the Chet bakers, Fleetwood Mac box set + then play on deluxe, a Todd rundgren box set
In case anyone needs some ideas...I GOT: The Best of R.E.M. at the BBC (2-LP) Various Artists - OUR NEW ORLEANS (2-LP) Allen Toussaint - The Wild Sound of New Orleans David Bowie - Diamond Dogs (Remaster) Sharon Jones & The Dap Kings - Just Dropped In... The Guess Who - Shakin' All Over (2-LP)
Yes, there was Lots of stuff added overnight, didn’t see much on Sunday. Got a few items. Dead Fillmore box is therefore anyone is looking for that.
So if you cancel items you still get the same price on the other items on the order ? I'm trying to understand
The offer goes that you get the cheapest item in your order for free. But what their system does is take that cheapest item, and divide that discount across all three items. If you ordered three $100 items, your total would be $200 for the three before tax, but if you go in and cancel one item, they take actually took that $100 and divided it across all three, charging you $67 for each. So then you cancel one, and only got charged $134 for two. EDIT: And as mentioned above, upon initial pending charge of your card, you’ll see Target applies the original tax to the entire order, even after you cancel one or two of the items. That gets fixed once the item actually ships. So if you see it higher than you think it should, it’s because of taxes, not a mess up with the discount.
So this Lee Morgan live at the lighthouse is a 12 LP set? So you guys are ordering three and canceling two? That's a pretty good idea if it will work. Is this a mosaic release?
For anything in stock, you only have a small window of time to cancel any part of your order before it moves into "shipping" and then it's out of your hands as it gets packed at the warehouse. I don't know how long the window is, but definitely a couple of hours at most.
I thought I read somewhere Mosaic was releasing this. If this is a tone poet it's a pretty ambitious project
For John Hiatt vinyl fans: When I ordered these last time, the four titles I received that are first-time-on-vinyl from his Only The Song Remains box set were the colored vinyl editions. Maybe they will be for you, too. John Hiatt : Target
No, it’s neither part of the Tone Poet series nor being released by Mosaic. It’s coming from Blue Note. Joe Harley is involved, insofar as he listened to a test pressing. I don’t know whether he attended the mastering session, though I’m sure we’ll find out soon enough.
So if this is just on standard weight vinyl and a plain old box set hopefully the price will come down a bit. I'm going to hold off on ordering it
I don’t think we know those details yet. I would expect 180g vinyl for this. Pressed at RTI, I believe.
I grabbed some nice reggae records, most notably an upcoming Soul Jazz Studio One rocksteady compilation
I went for a Soul Jazz comp on vinyl as well, Soul Of A Nation, back in stock after being sold out last sale. Also picked up: King Crimson Thrak vinyl A Certain Ratio To Each... and Sextet on vinyl and in spite of their 2am cancellation record, pre-orders for: Art Blakey Witch Doctor Tone Poet Zappa soundtrack 3CD set
