Wow. Love it. Looks like an ambient record. Should be on NNA or something. Her websites already updated with a flame flickering on the zippo and you can pre-order on all formats. Guess she knew she would be making an acceptance speech so she could launch an album roll out. Queen. I think I and most of the world are here for late night, Midnight-era Taylor.
Wow, Yo T-Swizz Save the Drama for yo Mama Life apparently is tough when you are on top of the world.
Looking forward to this everything looks great let’s hope the music is good too. I feel that she is in her prime so I think this will be good. I don’t know whether to pre order the blue vinyl on her official store or hold out for other variants.
I’m very curious to find out what this will sound like. Will she keep going in the folklore/evermore direction? Who did she collaborate with for this? Anyone? I’m glad to see the vinyl is set to ship on the release date. This must’ve been finished a while ago
As with every Taylor Swift project since Fearless, I'm really looking forward to this. Is it too much to hope for something really torchy and intimate? Not quite Wee Small Hours of the Morning, maybe, but not something so glossy and rhythmic -- wouldn't seem to be in keeping with the dark night of the soul theme.
I’ll be buying this. But does she really have multiple sleepless nights where she has to work out emotional torment that results in a song? Sounds like a miserable life (apart from the fame and fortune) ha ha
I don't think it's unusual for her to write songs or get ideas for songs when trying to fall asleep. When the creative sparks fly, you go with them. I know the song Lover was written that way (she got up and wrote the whole thing in the middle of the night). When it comes to prolific songwriters who are creative, I just roll with it.
I certainly relate to that. Almost all of my songs are written in the middle of the night, when everything around is still. However, there is very little emotional turmoil involved.
Well, writing about emotionally devastating topics is kind of her brand, and I am sure she plays that up a little in the promotion to get the fans a bit excited, but the last few albums have shown that she can write about emotionally gripping topics that have nothing to do with her or her personal life. I remember her talking about excited she was when she finished Death by a Thousand Cuts, as she proved to herself that she could still write a devastating breakup song even though it wasn't about her in any way.
Interesting that the teased cover lists a Side A and Side B, suggesting this is a single LP with 13 songs. Has she released an album that wasn't a double?
Oh I assume those are placeholders, and thinking more seems like it'll probably be 2xLP, guess I would have expected the placeholder to say "Disc 1" instead of "Side A" in that case but who knows.
It's a little strange to think that she wouldn't have sleepless nights because she's successful. She's got a mom with terminal cancer. At least one known stalker that's come close to breaking in. She may or may not be on the verge of getting married. She's fueded with powerful (and influential people) Ye, and Braun. And all the other assorted odds and ends that may keep people up at night (nothing quite as stressful as watching an hour of the evening news - wars, pandemic, economy, Supreme Court decisions, etc.)
