Just audience tapes though. I don't mind them if it's the only option for a show I went to (which is normally the case), but I wish I could buy real recordings of their shows like I can for most other mid-level jam bands. (And of course, no one taped the 3 TTB shows I've seen)

I mean, I think it’s okay to say, since it’s widely known...but videos on YouTube are easily converted to digital audio files.

Would there be an issue with royalty payments for Layla if they were to release this set?

They would all go to writers of the songs, which are Clapton and Whitlick, I do not think they would have a problem with such a release. Eric maybe would not even want any money as he is well off and friends with Derek, I guess.
By the way, IIRC the only song from the album besides Thorntree Eric never performed live is I looked away.
With Derek in his band he performed all the tracks except those two and
Bell Bottom Blues (last performed in 2003)
Have you Ever Loved a Woman (2004)
    Keep on growing (1975)
Its too late (1970 with the Dominos)
Nobody knows You w ( last performed in the slow arrangement in 1976 - there was one later take with shared vocals with his backing vocalist)

I definitely need vinyl box set and a blu Ray. What a moment in time.

TTB at beacon last 2 nights played Keep on growing, have you ever loved a woman, I am yours, and why does love have to be so sad...

All the rest of the songs over next 4 nights? I was at first two...will be at 3 out last 4...

And last 2 shows streaming for $20 a night or $35 for both nights...

The playing is PHENOMENAL, but I think I am burnt out on Trey's singing voice. It's so weak and thin and just doesn't fit this music at all. It's fine for Phish but lacks the...depth?...that these songs require.

I thought that Trey's voice kind of worked as Clapton is not a strong singer himself. That said, the Layla album may be his best and most (only?) fiery vocal performances

Some pretty epic live music. Derek continues to prove he's one of the best in the business right now. I like where Trey's playing has evolved to - much more interesting and sparing notes. But I do sometimes miss the machine gun playing he did in the 90s.

  19. Gordon is listed as cowriter for Layla, but I suspect he is not going to object from prison.

Was rewatching snippets from this show today and I agree, this should be properly released.

Wouldn’t it be great if Derek and Doyle talked Eric into doing a similar show this year to celebrate the 50th anniversary? Either a one-off or a short run to be recorded/filmed and released. They could bring in Steve Jordon, Willie Weeks and Chris Stainton from the 2006 tour band to round this off.
