Telarc Nutcracker?

This is the LP I have which sounds really good over 2 LPs.

Hi Teag. My original post stated it's an abridgment. What surprised me is that apparently Kurtz himself did the cuts and they aren't what's commonly called The Nutcracker Suite, so prepare for much more music than is contained in that. This recording is longer than the common "suite" but still missing enough content that it fits on one CD. I listened to von Karajan's Decca suite and it's around 21 minutes. Kurtz's suite clocks in around 47 minutes. Far from complete, but a sizeable chunk of the the score. Still, complete it is not. I'm sorry if it wasn't clearly stated in my first post. I hope I've helped clarify that.

 

Not a problem at all. There are so many CDs of this it's amazing.

 

I love this version as well. Play it every year. Might not have the greatest sound but the tempos and character are just right and not too fast.
