Sounds like a charming little film.

“But let’s take this logic one step further. Horror movies don’t have to be commercialized to be commercial. Fessenden was on my mind throughout my experience watching “Terrifier 2” this week (and averting my eyes when a grinning Art the Clown doused a mutilated woman in bleach and salt). “

    yeah.

It's a film made by a man who hates women for other men who hate women. And very probably these men are still virgin.

Most movies these days fall into a sub-genre whether it’s clowns, zombies or vampires. This is a slasher movie that follows the formula, it’s just super gory with a pretty nonsensical plot.

I watched Terrifier 2 last night. I thought it was a hoot. Yeah, it was a little long and I could have done without that Clown Cafe dream sequence near the beginning. But it was an entertaining epic splatter film-it felt very much like something from the 80s. The 'just the tip' scene was pretty funny but nowhere near as jaw dropping as the scene that it likely payed homage to from Night of the Demon (1980). I wouldn't classify T2 as torture porn at all. This is nothing like Hostel, Wolf Creek, etc. It's not for everybody and I wouldn't even call it the bloodiest movie I've ever seen-no more so than an early 80s Lucio Fulci movie, really. But it was an entertaining 140 minutes spent on Halloween night.

I will give this guy credit though for shooting a Hollywood looking film on zero budget. Beautiful cinematography. How? Looks as good as any big budget film.

Sounds like the perfect movie for you!

Have you watched it at all? Because unfortunately this movie is nothing like that. Do you know anything about Leone and his motivations? Why not do some research first instead of giving us your usual spiel? It's boring.

Watched it last night and didn't really know what to expect. There were walkouts. I was surprised how good this movie looked and how well Leone knows the genres history. I guess the only way to make sense of this film is to view it as something made by someone with deep love for the genre. This is obviously not something that is to be taken seriously.

I thought it was a bit too long but overall a pretty cool movie.

It only just received a very limited theatre release over here in Germany and since I mostly watch movies in a cinema I saw it yesterday. It's also the only way to see it Uncut in Germany since the German DVD had to have three minutes removed. Which obviously isn't even remotely acceptable.

Agree with everything you say! Could probably be 25 minutes shorter. And just as I was about to leave there was a mid-credits scene. Which I watched from the aisle. Leone certainly has lots of things to say. Just don't cut those three minutes.

These are not films that have strong continuity. I feel like you can jump in and get up to spend. The original doesn’t have a plot per se.

  14. A couple of libraries in my library system have Terrifier 2 and there's one library that makes "Binge Boxes" that has one called "Halloween Horror 1" that has both All Hallows Eve movies included, so I've seen those. You may check with your library to see if they are member of OCLC and see if you can have the first Terrifier film brought in from a library outside of library system.

I liked the first one for what it was, even if I would’ve preferred the other sister to be the final girl.

I turned off the second one right about the time the kids were playing with the dead possum. Truth was, I just found it boring. I suspect it would’ve gotten insanely gory, but I just didn’t care about anything that was going on.

  16. As I said upthread, you can see the first two on the ad-supported streaming channel Tubi.

Just watched 2 on Prime. Awful and ridiculously long for little plot. I liked Art's segment in All Hallows Eve with him being on TV. That was creepy. So because of that film, I've sat through T1 and T2. If there's a T3, I now know not to bother.

  18. I've seen both films. They were okay, but I wouldn't rewatch them.
