When I say ruin I do not mean it destroys the whole album, but it definitely takes away it's shine and pisses you off most of the time.

Dizzy Miss Lizzy off of HELP!. That album was a few tracks away from being a masterpiece.

There is 2 one 5th Dimension, we all know which ones.

not sure either of these ruin the album, but

*Student Demonstration Time from Surf's Up
*What's Wrong from Pacific Ocean Blue

are my stock answers for this much asked question.

oh, Turd on the Run, too. obviously!

While I'm not the biggest Beatles fan, partially due to the extreme over-exposure to their fanatics praising of every fart, giggle and burp, I do like their music. And I totally agree on this. I always thought Help was the weakest link of their catalogue (even if there's quite a few classics on it as well) but that track just pushes it close to the edge. They should dropped the fourteenth track or included "Bad Boy" instead if they had to hav a cover.

man, there are almost a 1/4 of a million threads on the music board alone. of course there is going to be repetition and regurgitation.

maybe try another thread if you don't like the look of this one

Let's try these then. "Ticket to Ride" on the 5th Dimension's "The Magic Garden", an absolute dog. "To Ramona" on the self-titled Flying Burrito Brothers album, dull as ditchwater.

"The Night Time Is The Right Time" - both Animals and CCR. Creedence at least injects some energy into it but it's just not a very good song to begin with.

I've always hated "Future Legend" on Diamond Dogs. Well maybe hated is an overstatement but it's just way too overbearing. I get that it's trying to set the mood, but the mood it sets is not at all in line with the rest of the album. Either the song is trying too hard or the album isn't trying hard enough. I absolutely adore the rest of the album, so I'll pick the former.

While the Cult's cover of Born To Be Wild doesn't ruin Electric, it is pretty terrible.

I don't think ONE song can "ruin" a whole album. It can nod it down a little, but that's it.
Anyway, I'm a "glass is half-full"-guy, instead of "half-empty" anyway. So...

But case in point, the debut album of Traveling Wilbury's has one bad track, which, compared to all other tracks, are annoying: "Margarita".

On a more seasonal note, this means I can never play A Charlie Brown Christmas without a stressful anticipation of having to skip it, or explain it to anyone else in the room:

Ha! I'll see your single track and raise you---all of side one of Blue Cheer's New/Improved!

Side two is one of my all time favorite sides, but side one seems like a hack job, but then, Randy Holden is the MAN! Sorry, I couldn't pick just one off that great one ( well, two that is!). I suppose there is a thread with albums that only have ONE good side--but then talking about "sides" may be so dated that I'm....dating myself! Of course if I had the CD, I'd really be in trouble!

I always have to skip I Ain't Hiding on Before The Frost by the Black Crowes. Quite what they were doing putting a disco beat on that album is beyond me.

Piggies on The White Album is another one, I can't bear to listen to it.

I wouldn't say they 'ruin the album' but they definitely lessen the enjoyment.

No single song can entirely ruin an album, but I know at least one song that ruins an entire album side: “Revelation” on Love’s Da Capo.

Kreen Akrore from the album "McCartney"

Being a huge McCartney fan, I don't mind it, but from an outsiders perspective, it's not much of a song and Paul isn't a good enough drummer to really pull it off.

Replace Dizzy Miss Lizzy with I’m Down and you don’t have this problem.
And you start with the A side of the single and end with the B side.

It's a newie but the song American Soul on the new U2 album is so horrendously crap that it has stopped me actually buying the album.
