If its Paul why would he wish to sound like John when John is there to sing it? Doesnt make sense IMO ?

It's John, with Paul doing ghostly oooohs over it

I know what you mean. The other voice(s) are buried in mix.

I posted this on the original thread. The isolated track could well be Paul, or John or Paul and John. Whenever I've heard it within a complete mix I've always been convinced that it's John. The thing is that there are sounds on the track that I've never heard before which makes me wonder if it's actually a different 'mix' of the aah section. I just find it hard to believe that I've never noticed any of the background voices and effects before, even in 5.1. I think an attempt to isolate the section from one of the 5.1 mixes could be revealing and would make a good comparison to the section of the 4 track posted here.

  14. It's really the guys who did the voices in Yellow Submarine, filling in while the guys were taking delivery on their new Rolls Royces.

Rightly or wrongly I have always assumed it to be Paul, so I'll stick with that.

I can't listen to the posted clip, but that's always sounded just like John to me. Paul might be in there somewhere too, but it's predominately John...

:D So now we do a poll in which all the "John people" (kidding) vote and herewith settle this important question? Allright, for the record. As most of you I was convinced it was John until I listened to the multis and heard that in fact it's all Paul. Does it make sense that Paul sounds like John? Does it make sense that Geroge sounds like John on "Secret"? Or John like Dylan on "Hide your love away"? I guess it does  but nonetheless it's Paul.

    Have fun! :)

  18. In all seriousness, hasn't responsibility for the vocals here been documented somewhere, what with all the information and analyses on Beatles recording sessions that's out there?

Well if somebody could just ask Paul that would wrap it up! I'm actually changing my mind and believe that the sample could well be Paul. I still want to hear the section pulled from a 'complete' mix though (I want to hear if the other vocals/effects are there too). If I remember correctly it is all mixed to centre on the 'Love' 5.1 mix and could therefore be isolated pretty well. Can anybody recommend any particular software for ripping individual tracks from the DVDA?

Not really, as history has shown that the various Fabs don't always recall their past very well. And who can blame them? Being asked to remember bits and pieces from 40+ years ago has to be tough...

And I bet if asked, Paul would say it was John and Himself, perhaps thats the answer!

    John. No question

specially at the end of the ahhhs it's clearly him. Also on Love the mix reveals more detail and it's totally him
