What would you say are The Beatles five best songs, your crème de la crème? Get Back Magical Mystery Tour Lucy In The Sky With Diamonds I am The Walrus While my Guitar Gently Weeps

Just five? Impossible!!! And while I'm here, let me give you the "oh no, not another Beatles thread award"
Ok. The first five that come to mind, here we go: -Here Comes The Sun -I'm A Loser (that bass line!!!!) -Mother Nature's Son -Any Time At All -What You're Doing?
This thread will consist of: People giving a list of their five favourite songs People giving a list of a far greater number of songs People refusing to give any songs because "how can you choose just five?" People giving a list of their five favourite Rolling Stones songs because they're better than the Beatles People making sarcastic posts about yet another Beatles thread People arguing that what Paul had for breakfast on the day of recording disqualifies a certain song from competition
In no particular order: Yesterday Strawberry Fields Forever Here, There and Everywhere I Should Have Known Better A Day in the Life
1. A Day in the Life 2. Strawberry Fields Forever 3. Tomorrow Never Knows 4. In My Life 5. I Am The Walrus Ultimately though, narrowing it down to only 5 Beatles songs is unsatisfying and futile.
I see a few have listed ' Here Comes The Sun' as a Top Five Fab Four fave and maybe rightfully so. It's well written, well played, well produced and a world-wide favourite which is nothing to sneeze at. But the greatest and best song Harrison came up with was 'Within You Without You', a truly unique and different sound and direction and a top tier Beatles title. For John, I'd go with 'Strawberry Fields Forever' For Paul, either ' Hey Jude' or 'Yesterday' . Predictable perhaps but it is what it is.
While I’m one of those who can’t pick a “top five” , I must say that is the song that comes to mind first for me, just brilliant in every way
If I have to choose five songs to show future generations the greatness of the Beatles, I would choose: - I Want to Hold Your Hand (the peak of Beatlemania) - Yesterday (Paul's greatness as a composer and balladeer) - Strawberry Fields Forever (Lennon's genius and psychedelic foray) - A Day in the Life (perhaps the "greatest" Beatles song) - Something (George's magnificent contribution). Not necessarily my top five. Of course, with the same arguments it could include: -She Loves You or A Hard Day's Night - Michelle or Here, There and Everywhere - I Am the Walrus or Tomorrow Never Knows - Hey Jude or In My Life - Here Comes the Sun or While My Guitar Gently Weeps
When I bought ' Sgt Pepper's...' over 50 years ago (!) I didn't know a single song on it. And as I was spinning it on my pitiful portable picnic player I was just enjoying each song so much. They were all so good. Side one ended and I flipped it and 'Within You Without You' started. I almost went into a trance. Never heard anything quite like it before. Just dug it. Played it plenty.
WTH, I'll take the challenge... Eleanor Rigby Strawberry Fields Forever Hey Jude Here There and Everywhere Yesterday
Strawberry Fields Forever Tomorrow Never Knows Rain Abbey Road Side 2 Medley I Want To Hold Your Hand
