I didn't include any Paul either for a reason. Third tier singer after John and George.

    I agree completely.

He’s unlikely to infiltrate a top 5 of mine. Top 20, sure. “I Will” is another one I hold in high regard.

But I could do an all John top 10 and it would look pretty accurate.

Precisely. With the Beatles you can, with some effort, narrow it down to maybe 50 or so top tier songs, but those are all so effing brilliant that choosing between them is impossible. Hell, I'm just listening to the new "Revolver" remaster and I don't know that I could pick the five best songs on that album, much less their whole body of work.

Oh yes! Rev 1….I always loved it. It felt so cool as a sixth grader in 1968 hearing an alternate, great new version of an already well known version we were used to. That feeling of hearing it for the first time still floats around me.

Just gut reaction, based on what I listen to the most, performance and writing
    Soldier of Love (BBC)
Dear Prudence (or Martha My Dear, love them both)
    For No One
Hey Jude (love listening to the recording, all the little parts going on)
Rain (probably play this more than any other Beatles song, the perfect B side, which is where I heard it by flipping Paperback Writer over)

Devil In Her Heart always seems to get short shrift around here. Love the lead vocal and the background vocals. I Need You is my favorite George lyric. I bought the US Help album with my own money March 1970. I would turn 10 in April. The Tom Petty version from Concert For George still gives me chills. Tom has that certain sadness going on in his voice.

I was so used to hearing the single that when I bought the album and heard this version at first I was mad, like what is this. But it quickly grew on me. Later reading the timeline for the recording and Lenin's experiences and Paul's influence I really warmed to the lesser known version.

It's not that a few Paul tunes wouldn't make my top 10. but those are the ones that jumped out at me as I scrolled through the list.
