I don’t think you’re in a position to know that. And those of us who are dispute the notion that a carefully played tape will wear with 50 plays.

if you bake a tape you can play it for about 3 weeks before it gets dangerous. Then bake it again. Everybody I know bakes tapes multiple times. There’s no evidence that it causes any damage, if it’s done right.

I think I’m just gonna put this thread on ignore because I’ve been trying to argue against a post that ignores simple and proven physics but it seems like no one is getting my point

If Giles and Sam set out to create a modern sound then they failed. Drums and bass should always be in the center. Their excuses are twaddle.

No, the CD’s are housed in pockets in mini LP alternate-shot covers inside a a faux LP-sized laminated cover which mimics the actual cover.

no in unattached card board stock made to look like the album cover. It's maybe a little thicker than current album covers.

Don’t do Facebook, but it looks to be essential just like 50th TWA. MMT / Abbey Road .. next.

Noticed TWA Anniversary has no mono mix option no biggie .. but I’d of thought least an option. As is 7 discs ( one BD).

The mix is fine, except „Lucy in the sky with diamonds“ where instruments are moving left to right and back again.

That's the one thing that put me right off the remixed 'Lucy' from the get-go...

George Martin, Giles Martin; Miles Showell, Martin Showell. Beginning to see a pattern here! Is that a typo, a surname coincidence, or do Abbey Road have a policy of keeping jobs in the family?

The White Album original mono is on the blu-ray disc, alongside PCM stereo and the two 5.1 options (DTS-HD Master and Dolby TrueHD).

It would have been poetic if they got Ethan Johns to remix Let It Be [without asking Paul for approval]...

I found this quote really interesting:

Due to time demands, Martin will mix outtake material in his own dedicated room at Abbey Road, while Okell is creating the new stereo mixes in the Studio 3 control room.
This is interesting. If I read between the lines correctly - the outtakes are primarily Giles mixes, while the main program is Okell mixes, with input from Giles.

This might just be me, but I haven't had as many issues with the outtake mixing as I've had with the main program mixes. This lines up with the earlier Giles mixes I'd heard on things like George Harrison's Early Takes, etc. He seemed to have a lighter touch in those days.

I'm almost wondering if it's a case of "Too Many Cooks In The Kitchen" for the main remixes?

Anyway - that's just me rambling. Carry on.

    Cheers,
    Paul
