Don’t think they could improve picture, but improved sound / more extras at least.

I think they're going to wait until there's a 50th year anniversary, and then use the occasion to release a 4K version...while the rest of the world is on 32K displays on their phones. :D

But by then the ATMOS technology should be pretty good*.

(*...the 2023 box set of the Buckingham Nicks album in itself will be amazing )

Well, they'd have to rescan the interview footage in HD then reconstruct the eight parts but I think they could.

It’s also in 4:3 (vs widescreen), which is kind of a bummer.

They’d have to retransfer ALL the film footage and photos in HD…and I recall that quite a bit of material was leased to Apple, so they’d have to get it all back. This would be a time-consuming and expensive project.

I watched it live on uk tv, and I’m sure I seen more footage ( memory could be playing tricks).

  10. I voted “no”, because I’m satisfied with the DVD set.

I distinctly remember an edit where - near the end, I believe - George Martin went on a tangent about meeting John Lennon years after the breakup. It stands out in my memory because it was the only time I can recall George basically dumping on John for all the negative things he said about him over the years. It really felt unscripted and raw. My DVD version doesn't have that moment, I'm pretty sure I didn't dream it.

Many people have pointed out moments that were in the TV version that didn't make it to the dvd release.

    The Beatles Anthology TV version...

Want, yes. Need, no. I'll absolutely buy it again on Blu; that'll make it my third copy (VHS, DVD...)

And it should stay that way. Obviously if there's footage in there that can be widescreen, it should be. But all the TV footage, performance videos, even the 1990s interviews...let it be 4:3.

Yes and hell yes. I hope they release it and expand the crap out of it too. Though I somehow doubt it will ever happen.

I watched it as a teen when it aired on network TV, and only saw a few parts again many years later when it was re-ran on VH1 (and probably cut up all to hell).

I think it would be great to have it on Blu-ray, presumably it would look similar to the documentary included with the Deluxe Sgt Pepper 50th Anniversary. It's a great set of documentaries though I was a bit upset with how little time was devoted to Abbey Road and man, there are some weird interview locations in that thing. Paul is in the middle of a camping trip or something at one point, and I can't remember if it's in Anthology or if it's just the mini-docs but he's also driving a tug boat or something at one stage.
Unfortunately, there doesn't seem to be anything announced at the moment, probably it would just end up on some streaming service.

The point is that many folks have already invested good money in the dvd version that is perfectly fine, and see no reason to buy it again. I’m not sure I would.
