Not really pre-fame as Please, Please Me is #1 at this point, but the candid photos are interesting.
The photos of the Beatles auditioning at the Wyvern/Blue Angel in May 1960 were posted earlier in the thread, but here is another showing Billy Fury and Larry Parnes watching their performance and one with John getting Fury's autograph.
Incredible - for me, Ma Storm is one of the characters of Tune In. There was a thread on this forum long ago, asking 'if you could go back in time and be present at a Beatles-related event...' I wanted to be an invisible presence at one of the late nights at Stormsville. But I could never picture what Ma looked like. Now I can! Thanks @LilyMarz !
Just catching up with this thread, after a few days out of the loop. I was also a teenager in the 80s, growing up on Merseyside and, after John died, books started appearing on almost every aspect of the Beatles, usually with loads of photographs. So I'd also thought I'd seen everything there was to see. Clearly, I was wrong!

Tony Prince was a DJ on Radio Luxembourg ('Your Regal Ruler...I'll never fool yer').
I really want to believe his account of the gig. It's amazing how some people can remember precise details of something that happened nearly 60 years ago.
He’s still going with same catchphrase. Second half of this clip:
John on a school trip to the Isle of Man in 1951.
George on a family trip to Ireland.
Paul & Mike
It’s possible he kept notes or a diary
John's 1955/1956 detention notes. "Impudent answer to question" . Such a shame there are no details.
At least he took the advice on the bottom of this page to heart.
Looool that is quite a list.
Now, Junior--behave yourself!!
