“Paul is a fine bass player, but he’s a bit overpowering at times. To tell the truth, I’d join a band with John Lennon any day, but I couldn’t join a band with Paul McCartney. It’s nothing personal; it’s just from a musical point of view.” SOURCE: Why George Harrison wouldn't join a band with Paul McCartney after The Beatles
What a **** article. What a useless contribution to anything beyond trash journalism. Another petty clickbait waste of space pretending to be informative 40 to 50 years after the fact. Can't even get the song right. 'Bitter"
I've seen this clip many times over the years, and had the audio clip for a long time, but only now I realize at 2:48 Yoko says "John, John don't get pissed", or is it just me? After all the recordings before and after the jam do sound very much alcohol-fuelled... Doc
Yes, she does indeed appear to sing "John, don't get pissed" multiple times. Odd to hear her use British vernacular.
Ringo says he’s been only shown the rooftop concert “and it’s really really great” 'RS Interview: Special Edition' With Ringo Starr
Well we already know the rooftop concert will be really, really really great. How about the rest of the movie?
Ask Ringo. Apparently, he hasn’t seen any of the rest Anyway, if you saw the interview, he was talking about THE WHOLE rooftop concert, 40 and plus minutes, completely restored.
The interview is interesting. Ringo also says that so far he has seen only the 40+ minutes long Rooftop Concert, and that “when the rest of it is added it’ll be super cool” (or something like that). I’m beginning to think the movie was delayed not only for promotional reasons, but also because.. it’s not finished yet If the movie had been finished as we all so far assumed, PJ would already have shown the surviving Beatles the whole movie, wouldn’t he?
The decision to delay was made a while ago and before the original deadline for submission, so Jackson will take the opportunity to do some tweaking. Had it not been for the COVID issue there wouldn't have been any other delay, the elements are pretty much ready to go. But 3 months out of the office has meant that things haven't been finished off as they otherwise would have been
how many different songs are played on the rooftop ? I would assume the best bits were used for the original film. I dont think Ringo is going to say i saw the clips and they are lousy
Here is a full breakdown [AUDIO] of the rooftop gig in the order of performance: "Get Back" (take one) -- Not released officially "Get Back" (take two) -- Not released officially "Don't Let Me Down" (take one) --- a COMPOSITE of this take and the other take of the song is on Let It Be Naked "I've Got a Feeling" (take one) --- already released on the ORIGINAL Let It Be album / also a COMPOSITE of this take and the other take of the song is on Let It Be Naked "One After 909" --- already released on the ORIGINAL Let It Be album "Dig a Pony" --- already released on the ORIGINAL Let It Be album "I've Got a Feeling" (take two) --- a COMPOSITE of this take and the other take of the song is on Let It Be Naked "Don't Let Me Down" (take two) --- a COMPOSITE of this take and the other take of the song is on Let It Be Naked "Get Back" (take three) --- already released on the ANTHOLOGY 3 PLUS there were a few off-the-cuff musical interludes done in-between the main songs, like Danny Boy, I Want You (She's So Heavy), and God Save The Queen. The latter two were very short, instrumental guitar doodlings.
Will the full rooftop performance be the same without the 'strange interludes'. I don't know if I can live without the priceless Vox Humana of the 'man in the street'. "I just can't see the bleedin' sense" "This kind of things alright in it's place, in fact it's quite enjoyable, but to disrupt a whole city street..."
C'mon, that upstanding, ladylike OAP does not say "Bleeding"! "I just can't see that it makes any sense."
Rolling Stone magazine says: "[Michael Lindsay-Hogg] arranged an army of cameras to capture the moment from all angles, sending a crew into the street, the adjacent building, and the Apple reception area — not to mention the five cameras on the roof itself."
Nice, that’s my video! Yeah it is certainly out of sync at some points, the Yoko jamming bit I got from the work print of the cancelled documentary “The Long And Winding Road”. Apple falsely copyright claimed it for using the Let it be movie (which it doesn’t.) Tomorrow I’m gonna upload a 46 minute version of this, with a lot more footage.
