I almost posted this myself; kudos on getting it done.

I need this thing poster-sized -- I get confused about what's where all the time.

I hadn’t consciously realized how much of U.S. The Early Beatles was actually the U.K. Please Please Me. Definitely a cool chart.

Not considered for the reason as Collection of Beatle Oldies...each was a compilation exclusive to the corresponding country of release.

I would like to see one of these for the Stones 1960s releases; Decca vs London.

Hey Jude is more of an album than a compilation to me. Definitely missing.

But isn’t this to show how the material from the UK releases filtered over into the American releases? I’m thinking this is why the two albums I mentioned aren’t included. Actually I think they do have a total of two songs in common.

I totally get that...I'm assuming you bought it way after the fact so to you it's basically a "regular Beatle album" with no concern for when each of the songs originally came out. Just a binch of great songs on one LP.

I know this book! It's The Beatles US LPs: Where They Came from & How They Charted by Ken Westover.

The creator of the chart has a YouTube channel and video based on the poster.

Every streaming service uses the UK albums (with the exception of Magical Mystery Tour). The UK catalogue was made the "canon" catalogue globally with the release of the The Beatles albums on CD in 1987/1988. Magical Mystery Tour made it into the catalogue because it was an easy catch-all of the 1967 singles and the MMT double EP (plus non-US fans were importing the album prior too and it was released in the UK in 1978).

MMT LP was released in other countries as well, way before '78...

    PS: it's "canon". :)

Thanks . I knew that about the other countries (I have a '68 Japanese pressing and the WWC 1971 Australian pressing). Thought it was worth mentioning about the official UK release since the original discussion was UK vs. US.

I have to come clean about something...I said a couple of unfavorable things about this guy, having seen the video on another thread. But giving it a fresh view right here, I take it all back. This is actually very enjoyable and, for those who arent familiar with this information, very informative. Thanks for posting it here allowing me the chance to be less of a sourpuss. Fun stuff.
