I get where you are coming from, but they release it in the fake/lie US Box...correct? so it can be released in the proper form in Vol 3...that's how I feel about it...I wish for it to be in there...
I'd rather add the SH SACD's from April 03' but would gladly complete the US set with Vol 3 if it were available
It's just not fair that they deserted us...why would they not complete the series? ridiculous! the US dedicated fan get screwed more than once...!
I was 10 in 64' and that's all we had. Can't understand why they didn't properly finish up the volumes.
because they don't care...they wanted the old US Records squashed and replaced with the UK versions...IIRC, they stated about tidying up the catalog to all reflect the UK versions...
Other than the Inner Groove is there any difference between the American and UK Pepper. I have an American mono needledrop and I can't hear one. How about the stereo
regardless a mono/stereo CD would be great in the Vol 3 box! mastered from the Capitol master tapes...did you know the MFSL Beatles box used the US Capitol Master for their UHQR!!!
I agree. I'm being (too) generous by including it at all. I don't even like it and it just cheapens the Help! song
Actually [he said once again beating the dead horse], AHDN was a Capitol album from 1979 to 1987. Capitol acquired the rights from Liberty/UA when the company was bought by EMI.
Sorry, but I have to disagree. I grew up with it and I hear it like a fanfare, dramatically announcing the imminent arrival of...... "HELP! I need somebody, HELP! Not just anybody..." Granted, I like the song just fine without the intro, but hearing it once in a while feels like a treat. [BTW, the intro was included as part of the track on the US Red album, which cemented it's place in my nostalgia head, no doubt...]
Because it was used on the US Red Album is the only reason it was on my list. But I don't like it, and it's not even the Beatles. As author Tim Riley said (perfectly), it puts the song itself in 'huge, non-threatening parentheses'.
I don't get this quote at all. What about the bond intro makes the song "non-threatening"? To me its just a nice tie-in to the movie (and it's similarity to Bond films). I like the intro and the momentary pause before "Help" starts.
Even though I already own a copy of everything on that list: I would buy it again just because apple listened!
I count at least 12 mixes that are still not available digitally. And some could use better sources, most notably RM11 of Penny Lane. (Still wondering if the tapes that EMI sent Capitol still exist).
