I think, one of the best french rock bands is Noir Desir. And I really like their song „Comme Elle vient“:
I have also to mention : Tri Yann - An Heol A Zo Glaz Fantastic folk-rock 70s band (and even prog in this title)
Franchise Hardy - self titled debut album https://youtube.com/playlist?list=OLAK5uy_mfFlGiQw21GqcAj2eBFQV6g8AqdwtwnS8 The following I found on Bandcamp: Initial Bouvier Bernois Initials Bouvier Bernois, by Initials Bouvier Bernois French Boutik - French Pop https://youtube.com/playlist?list=OLAK5uy_lIG5ATBmq7h4Ze3jzNiklEds9UAAJ8Ji0 Double Francoise - Les Bijoux https://youtube.com/playlist?list=OLAK5uy_kNJOrQzWkhunNQ1RHQ8onFLt2kW0yJv4w The last album is a compilation from, Ace Records, of the 60s beat girl sound, and the French take on that sound at that time. They actually do a whole series of that sound from around the world, Italy, Spain, Eastern Bloc, Asia etc and their take on the sound of that time, well worth a look if you like this. https://youtube.com/playlist?list=PLU62MFne4NxAHt6T3332ZZuS-5Jxu-k0z
Big fan of the artist Zaz. She has evolved into more of a vocal jazz singer on her later albums but this debut in 2010 is Manouche folk music and it's fantastic.
Yann Tiersen Dust Lane 2010 Dust Lane is a cinematic orchestral pop record that recalls the swagger of classic Serge Gainsbourg , it's a rich, moody, multi-layered work that finds Tiersen showing off his instrumental prowess and playing a wide array of instruments from strings to synthesizers on his haunting classical/rock compositions.
Francis Cabrel - Samedi Soir Sur La Terre 1994 Francis Cabrel is so talented , and this album made me fan of this great artist. Such a beautiful album each song is a different style, but they all fit in so nicely !
The the all-time-best-selling French language album ever ? My all time favorite CD by Celine , her voice is superb !
