Just finished the first four seasons of SNL, inc. the 1978 birth of Jake and Elwood. Afterward, I watched my extended cut Blu ray of the film again. Good times.
I remember going to see it with my freinds Dave and Phil in June, 1980. Dave was driving his Mother's 1973 Chrysler Imperial LeBaron Coupe (Talk about a BIG car!) . We were all 17 and had a great time that day. I've seen the movie several times and know it by heart. Dave and I still quote from it 40 years later.
"That'll be...ninety four dollars" "There's gotta be at least seven dollars worth of change here!" "Who IS that girl?"
So many great supporting performances and cameos... too many to name. Loved Carrie Fisher in this movie though
Next time you watch it, keep an extra observant eye on the entire Ray's Music/"Shake a Tail-Feather" sequence. There's something like 13 different camera positions just inside Ray's Music alone.
