Easily among my 5 favorite movies ever. I think this is the movie I have seen the most times in my life as well.

The movie that taught me that Illinois Nazis were particularly bad.

 

One of my favorite movies of all time - easily in my top 10. YOU'RE The Good Ol Boys????!!!!!

 

Why did the sequel turn out so lousy? Sequel-itis? Adding a kid? Goodman is no Belushi?

 

Why did they even bother to make one?

 

A disaster ! On equal footing with ' The Sting 2 '.

 

Oh ! This is harsh.

 

I don’t mean to be harsh, but what were they thinking when they made the sequel?

'Sex Farm' is on the charts in Japan . Spinal Tap's version of ' Sex Farm' to be exact.

Lou Marini was a semi-regular customer when I worked at HMV in NYC. The first time I met him I said, 'Chicken Wire?'

 

I read somewhere on imdb that Candy's orange whip thing was improvised. Very cool.

 

Blues Brothers was on cable yesterday. Now I know why.

Last night I celebrated by partying to the cranked soundtrack album, then settling down with the movie (extended edition, naturally). It just doesn't get old, does it? So much fun and such great music. It's classic scene after classic scene, and so many great lines! They really don't make them like this anymore.

I was too young when it was first released, but I remember the very first time I watched it when I was about 18 - I wanted nothing more in the world than to dance like them! I became an instant Blues Brothers fanatic. Ohh, Jake, why did you have to leave us so soon? Alas!

Happy 40th, Blues Brothers movie. Mission accomplished.

 

Y'know, I was thinking of The Who but yours is probably the best example.
