Happy Birthday Christopher! Brady Bunch's Maureen McCormick Takes a Football to the Nose for Christopher Knightâs Birthday
Since around 2004, i've been kinda obsessed with something that happens in "Greg Gets Grounded." The way Greg (and also Jenny and Mike) constantly refers to "the rock concert" he really wants to attend without ever revealing what acts are performing at said concert. It's either laughably generic and unrealistic dialouge or the way the some that some people actually referred to such events at that time. Either way, ever since then, in every conversation i've tried to describe every gig or show i'm talking about as a "rock concert," without saying who's playing. Also, the t-shirt that Greg is wearing when Mike and Carol confront him in the den about driving George's car is very groovy.
I often watch home improvement shows like Fixer Upper and Rehab Addict. I'll have to watch out for the Brady House renovation show. Scott
...Well, it could be that they (1) were told by the lawyers they couldn't use a known name without permission (2) had no studio-affiliated act to plug, even subtly, nearby at that time (Davy Jones?) (3) presuming that the element of a concert went no further than Greg, etc., talking about it, coming up w/a non-existent band name (" Are you going to the Edible Lawnmotor concert tonight? ") would be distracting from the movement and central part of the story. Matter of fact (4), if they had just said just " concert " would it have been seen as " Peter's not a genius elitist bookworm kid! That'll turn off ..." by the network/whomever? So, they said" rock ". As for " how people talked "/Nixon-era usage...Yeah, I guess the switchover to just " Rock " to describe the music and " concert ' for the show of it you went to was pretty recent then? In my punkindiealternativewhatevah yoof, I think performances of music were more " shows '. st 19936603, member: 5420"]Since around 2004, i've been kinda obsessed with something that happens in "Greg Gets Grounded." I just saw "Our Son, The Man" again where Greg turns Mike's Den into his new hip bedroom and I really have to side with the looks on Mike and Carol's faces- it really is pretty hideous with all the flashing lights and stuff. Yech...
